If 'Cobra' Froch beats Johnson & Ward, is he your number 1 smw of alltimes?

Just being a SMW puts him close. It's not a very high bar and Froch's win over Abraham was impressive.

Johnson is a real fighter. I realize that Tocker Pudwell and Evens Ashira(super welterweight) are ATGs, but Johnson is still better than them.

RJJ was the greatest SMW ever. The best fighter in the division's history. Schooling a top 2 P4P fighter at SMW is a feat that will never ever be duplicated.

Yup. Resume would be way better than Calzaghe's. Plus, he took on all his toughest challenges in succession

I agree with both of these. However, I think if Froch beats those two, wins a rematch vs Kessler, plus beats Bute, there will be no doubt in my mind he would be the best. I don't think he would ever have beaten Calzaghe in a h2h matchup, but in terms of accomplishment, he would surpass him.

Tell you what I like about The Cobra is he will fight anyone anywhere at anytime and he is not scared to take a punch or throw one. I like the guy and he seems like he is just a laid back guy and does not give a **** about anything. I am confused how he has not been marketed better especially in the UK because he has the personality and potential to be a huge star. The guy can fight.

Sorry but I think his resume's at least equal to Calzaghe's. He might not be as good a fighter but, there it is.

Compare him to a guy like Haye that fakes injuries, handpicks his fights, makes up ridiculous excuses and lies etc. I do not see how Froch is not bigger in the UK i have seen some people blame Hennessy but there is no reason Froch should not have some type of TV output deal in the UK. None. Can't wait for the Johnson fight I think Froch is going to mop the floor with him and I like and respect Glen Johnson.

There is a difference between greatest and best. Jones certainly was the best but he he didn´t do enough to be the greatest. One great win is not enough.

IF he does that AND beats Bute then maybe, but I don't see it happening. And weak resume aside, RJJ torches him.
