Instead of Ray Mercer ,a comeback Holmes instead faced a unbeaten Tua ?.Could Larry put the L in to Tua s column for the first time as he did Ray ?, Or would Holmes be sent back in to retirement?
Holmes would take a beating and would lose a decision.old holmes was very static and tua would make pressure during the 12 complete rounds, old larry could make fine against a few fighters because stylistical motives but tua was too strong, too powerful and had late ko power, too much for this fat static version of Holmes
Difference here Birmingham, between mercer and Tua .Holmes make make it a few rounds before he's tagged by Tua .It could be over before the 4 th .
I be honest, I could see it panning out like Tyson, pure knockout power and he wont be discouraged with anything coming back Tua. I'd put good money on a DT ko. I think you've just said that though
If we're being honest, Tua wasn't that difficult to outpoint. David Izon was up by a round on card and down by a round on another going into their final round. Oleg Maskaev was up by five rounds on one card and even on a second after 10 completed rounds. Journeyman Jeff Wooden came within a round of decisioning him. Hasim Rahman was up by SEVEN rounds after nine completed rounds. Fres Oquendo was up by SEVEN rounds after nine completed rounds. Even Danell Nicholson was outboxing him after five rounds. And NONE of those guys were known for their footwork. The problem for Holmes would be Tua kept his power the whole fight. He could stop you in the last round the same as he could in the first. If Tua didn't catch Holmes, Larry wins by a landslide on the cards. And only one guy out of 75 fights stopped Holmes. So Larry has an excellent chance.
Nobody says that tua has to stop Holmes to win the fight.. In fact i think that Larry would survive but he would take a beating and would lose by decision. Old holmes was very beatable
