If Cortez was not reffing May/Hatton, would the match have been very close?

No, Hatton got given a boxing lesson due to Mayweather not Cortez

Hatton isnt as good as Floyd on the inside, or on the outside

    No

I beleive Rico posted a thread on this where he highlighted the fact that Bayless 'interfered' in Hatton/Pacquiao moretimes than Cortez in Mayweather/Hatton over the course of the first two rounds

No, a very good 140lb is not an even match with an ATG 147lber.

Cortez just took away from a more exciting inside fight. Mayweather would still have whooped his ass

Mayweather would have knocked out Hatton earlier.

Mayweather's inside skill > Hattons best

no. on the contrary it could have ended early. floyd lost of lot of time from hatton's excessive holding.

I believe the fight would've been more closer and more exciting but floyd would still have taken it

Pretty much, be expect a handful of Ricky fans and some *******s to claim that it was all Joe Cortez's fault Hatton was blocking punches with his face.

Cortez was probably under orders that night as he was stopping Hatton working on the inside, even before Hatton was on the inside!
However it wouldn't have made a bit of difference because Floyd is simply a couple of levels above Hatton, and actually is better than Hatton on the inside.
