If Cotto beats Foreman and becomes a 3 division champion, is he a lock for HoF?

I think so given his very impressive resume.

A top 10 if not top 5 fighter of the decade.

The only thing that is holding him back is that he was never the lineal champion in either of those divisions, but he maybe at 154.

    What do you all think?

BTW: If your name rhymes with SteakTakinBacon do not post in this thread

No, being a multi-weight champion doesn't hold much weight in today's era as their 1 million belts. He needs to win a title from the 'legit' holder of the crown and then make an impressive string of defenses for me to give him consideration.

    Right now, he is locked.

If Mosley manages to beat PBF, who knows, he may have a shot to be a first ballot

In his reign at 140 he failed to fight the other top men: Gatti, whom got annihilated by Floyd, Floyd himself who offered a challenge, Hatton, or Tsyzu who later was beaten by Hatton. He went on to get a vacated title at 147 beat a year inactive head case in Judah who was always average and beat Mosley in a close fight which I give him credit for. He then fought Alfonso Gomez , after went on to get ruined by Margo and destroyed by Pac. Far from HOF worthy in my view. Cotto needs to prove that he can still perform at the elite level.

    Neither are known cheats.

Anyway, yes, he will go in the Hall of Fame. I think he'll drop back down to 147lbs though.

I hope he goes back down to 147. There's still some good fights for him there. At 154, I wouldn't mind seeing him against Angulo.

I already think he's HOF material quite frankly. It's not the amount of titles you pick up which counts, don't know how the **** you got that idea, it's the quality of opposition you've faced and defeated.. and Cotto has already established himself quite a resume.

Cotto has to do a whole lot more to become Hall of fame worthy, even if he beats Foreman which i dont think he will,he STILL would have a long way to go,But hes def a very talented fighter or was,Cause we dont know how much Cotto has left

I will def be rooting for Him against Foreman though
