If Cotto beats Foreman and becomes a 3 division champion, is he a lock for HoF?

he's only 28 or something like that. He needs to stay active longer to make it to the HOF.

Cotto and Hall of Fame should never ever be mentioned in the same sentence.

Danny Lopez retired at 28, and he got in this year. Long overdue.

I just can't give him the nod, If he beats Foreman that will be his first win over an actual belt holder and not a vacant title victory, that means something. I need him to unify a few belts there. He will have a chance against the winner of Spinks-Bundrage who would jump at having a big money fight. Other than that, I just can't give him the kind of nod needed.

    times change and standards change
but when there are 4 titles per division and he seems to have had just 1 most if not all the time, it tells me that there were 3 other top guys for him to be fighting as well as watered down mandatories....he did fight some big names and u cant fight everyone, but he will get in....but should he? in this day and time, probably....i like to see criteria of unifying rather than jumping up in weight and fighting maybe the weakest champ of that division....at least if you stay within your own division and unify, you have cleaned it out

I think he will get in regardless, but he won't be on the first ballot but he will get in eventually.

Anybody can do what you just did and **** on a person resume by simplistic discrediting. I could easily make his resume even more impressive by simple crediting,

Yeah Cotto could still get in. Remember HOF is Hall of Fame. Fame is.....well I'm not gonna go into further detail. People like Cotto & Hatton still have a chance to get in. It's not like its called Hall of All Time Greats. If it was I would go with no.

He is a good fighter but HOF now is a little premature. Even if he beats Foreman.
