What's your point? my answer was related to the question asked by the thread starter. i don't care about other people posting "the exact same thing"or if it has been discussed before why do you think im trolling ? and the fact that im new in this message board (actually i've been reading this forum for more than year and as you can see i joined on May 2007 i just don't post a lot ) doesn't have anything to do with it

How is he a newbie if he's been on ESB two more years than you have?

You can't say Manny is overrated he's getting the credit he deserves since he was underrated so many times. You have to say Cotto is being underrated because of the fact that it seems every boxing analyst, fighter, and trainer is picking Manny to win and trying to say Cotto is "damaged goods". Outside of the forum i'm yet to hear one person pick Cotto to win the fight, which I really don't get because there were plenty of people that picked Hatton to beat Manny, Cotto is worlds better than Hatton and not to mention a weight class higher, so how is no one (outside of ESB) giving Cotto a chance.

Calling him a newbie isn't saying much of anything. The time you've been here and the posts you've logged says little or nothing about your knowledge of the sport. You could say that every few days, someone with a bunch of ESB posts under his belt tries to argue a point by attacking the poster.

That said, the guys makes a decent point about Pac fighting bigger names, but not necessarily stiffer tests. De La Hoya certainly did not look himself that night and Hatton had a night like this coming to him ever since his lifestyle and reckless fighting style caught up with him against Mayweather and Collazo.

But to call Hatton an "overhyped fraud" is just plain stupid. He fought his way up the rankings and became one of the most popular, fan-friendly British fighters in recent memory. He put on sterling performances against solid guys. He just happens to be that type of fghter whose come forward, rough-and-tumble style has an expiration date stamped on his forehead. Doesn't matter. He's still one of the best JWWs in the past decade.

No, it's stupid question. Jesus, what is the point of asking this? When it happens well, ok.

You could say it about anybody. If I beat Pac, then does that mean I was under-rated?

Neither. Manny has already proved his greatness. The fact that he his fighting a superb welterweight in Miguel Cotto, proves just that.

If Manny wins, it would be an amazing achievement. Whereas if he loses, it simply shows that the little man tried that step too far against a beast of a welterweight. He's already defied logic by blasting ut guys that are way above his natural weight.

A Cotto win proves that Cotto is a top P4P elite fighter that has again earned the right to have a shot against Mayweather.

i hope cotto dose beat manny becouse i dont like the way cotto is being critizized right now, how people are saying that hes damaged or hes on his way out. If he beats manny it would show that people are underestimating him, sure he seems a bit less willing to take risks after the margarito fight but this may turn out to help him by forcing him to reley on his boxing skill, if cotto dose win the fight i highly doubt it will be by stopage, look for cotto to box himself to a close desision.

I don't see it that way, being fan-friendly and his personality outside the ring doesn't make you a better fighter and the truth is that he didn't belong in the same ring with Mayweather or Pacquiao and it showed i think hatton isn't any better than a guy like Luis Collazo so why was he being metioned as one of the best fighters P4P , it doesn't matter if you're a great guy and you are an exciting fighter he didn't deserve to fight the p4p #1 twice just based on popularity that's why i see him as an overhyped fraud

You nailed it right there Uncle Rico, Manny is fightin' a bigger man and a very good fighter in Miguel cotto. Even if he loses a close fight, he can still hold his head up.

i think you Can say that manny is overrated everyone can be Overrated no matter how good you are just like Micheal Jordan in the 90's you could ask any casual basketball fan about him and they thought he was the best 3point shooter , the best rebounder , the best shot blocker in the nba and he won all his championships all by himself and when he retired the first time that bulls team made the finals without him, doesn't mean he wasn't great , he's probably the greatest basketball player ever but he can still be overrated.

Same thing is happening with Manny he's great but when you see everyone picking him to KO a true welterweight champion in his prime inside 6 rounds he's being overrated.

Agreed! Pac has earned his status, but Cotto should have his due credit.
He has fought fighters that everyone else has supposedly avoided. Mosley, Margarito, and Clottey. They both get my respect for even taking
this fight, which is tough for either man.

How is it a stupid question, why should I ask after the fight? Isn't it better and more honest for people to say how they feel now and say what they feel before the fireworks go off and maybe change there tune.

It sounds like you may be one of the people who like to say I KNEW HE WAS OVER RATED after a fight and not before.:huh

This thread has a purpose, many people dont pic cotto to win the fight which is happening at Welterweight? Why is that? What has PAC proved at this weight that Cotto hasn't? Who has he beat that Cotto couldn't?

Im not saying Cotto will win, I just find it hard how a guy of his talent can be such an underdog going into a fight.

And yes as it stands Pac is over rated in terms of what he can mythically do against any elite Welterweights without having even fought one yet.

But here my point if Pac loses why would it be a step to far? If he is clearly the favourite in this fight. 8 people out of 10 pick him to win this fight easily. So him losing this fight isnt as simple as saying he picked on the wrong guy is it?

Shouldn't we give manny the respect he deserves and say the better man won on the day rather than you were just to small.
