If Cotto beats Margarito, do you think there will be a rubber match?

there will definitely be a 3rd fight if its similar to the last fight except with cotto winning.

Depends entirely on what happens second time round. If it is exciting and competitive for at least a short period, expect a rubber match. If Margarito's eye is destroyed again, I'm afraid he won't be fighting anyone again, never mind Cotto.

Doubt it. This fight will be the culmination of three years of speculation, hard feelings, and ghosts. I doubt it can duplicated.

if it's a close UD for Cotto and if PPV exceeds maybe half mil., i would think, there would likely be a 3rd fight.

If it's close or controversial, yes.

If either wins by convincing ko, no rematch needed.

I guess a lot would depend on the ppv numbers, Cotto winning, how competitve and entertaining, etc. I would think Cotto would be one of the top go to guys for Pac and Mayweather if they can't make a deal. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes after Chavez or Alvarez either. I don't think a third fight is the most likely option for Cotto but I do think its one of the handful of possible options.

I also agree with many of you - it depends on how the fight goes. If it goes to the cards and it's close, yet neither fighter is seriously hurt, then there will be a rematch. However, if its a KO on either side, there's no rubber match. Neither man can take a knockout nowadays.

It's deff possible, especially if Cotto wins a razor thin decision.

PPV numbers will be a bit factor too.

But as someone posted above, I doubt the third fight can duplicate the buzz this second one is creating with all the demons, speculation, anger etc.

It wouldn't sell well since the drama will be lost (unless the fight is somehow out of the ordinary), and Cotto is only after significant fights and probably wouldn't go for a third...on top of that, Margarito will have lost 3 of his last 4 fights and would have to win legitimacy by taking on someone else at the division before getting a sellable title shot.
