If Cotto beats Margo & JMM beats Casamayor, who should be P4P#2? (**** Calzaghe)

You're an imbecile mate. Calzaghe is a good fighter, but Hopkins should've got the decision, and 2 excellent wins (even tho 1 was over an impostor of a world-class boxer as we found Lacey to be) does not a P4P#2 make. Think how much younger Cotto is, and yet how many better fighters he has chased and beaten? And although Lacey and Kessler were top opposition, they were not Pacquiao or Casamayor or even a faded Barrera.

C'mon mate, a decade of beating Sakio Bikas and Richie Woodhalls does not compare to the career of Cotto or Marquez, despite how much longer Joe has had at the top, and surely that means something.

If Joe wasn't too scared to face Pavlik and instead deciding to beat up a tragically over-the-hill legend in RJJ, maybe he could claim to be #2. Not now, and if he takes the easy option in Jones, not ever.

Well that's for you :D . . . we are not discussing personnal P4P lists here. Clearly the thread starter is making refference to the ring list.

Thats more like it. I wasn't necessarily disagreeing with you I'm just fed up of n00bs, who are clearly fans of one fighter, coming on here & talking ****. You made a proper argument so fair enough.:good

Respect back to ya then mate :good

Regardless of where you'd place Calzaghe then, who would you place higher if Cotto and JMM both win??

If i remember correctly less than half the fans thought JMM won. Most were saying either a Pac win or a draw was the outcome.

to reply to the OP, it really depends on how they win. Also you can't just count out Calzaghe. He will look alot better in his next fight, you'll see

Nah, I also pretty much remember that majority of the people scored the fight for JMM. BUT those same people had no problem with Pac winning.

The only problem are those JMMnuthuggers who cried and moaned and whined that JMM 'schooled' Pac and that Pac didn't deserve the win.

For me it has to go to Cotto because even if you believe Marquez beat Pac both times he did lose to John.

I'd say it would depend on how JMM & Cotto would have won the fight and if it was a better win than Calzaghe's.. If JMM beats Casa convincingly, & Cotto squeaked by Margarito, then I'd probably rank him in front of Cotto and vice versa.. Currently I have Cotto ranked #3 & JMM #4 and if they both were to win convincingly, then I'd probably keep them ranked the same, but to move to #2, they're win would have to be better than Calzaghe's win over Hopkins.. Or somethin' like that...

Hopkins was a better win for Calzaghe than Margarito would be for Cotto or Casamayor for Marquez.

Completely untrue, plus Hopkins should've edged it anyway.

the only thing a see is that Casamayor is almost shot, Hopkins is past his best, but Margarito is still in his prime so my vote goeas for Cotto.

of course it is, hopkins was top 5 p4p when calzaghe beat him. margarito probbaly isn't top 50. and how can you say hopkins edged it, if he hadn't faked the low blows calzaghe would have stopped him.

Hopkins' gameplan completely nullified Calzaghe. He was the one whose plan worked, Calzaghe looked a frustrated and beaten man before the scorecards. Hopkins landed every single meaningful blow of the fight, Calzaghe just pitter-pattered his elbows for a while then trudged back to his corner at the end of every round. But even giving him the win, Cotto has still achieved well more in his short career.
