I think Cotto can get a W over today's Martinez who looks clearly past his prime now.

And if Cotto wins I see Floyd moving up in weight to try to capture MW title. The fight most likely will be at 157 catchweight.

I can see it happening if its vs Martinez or Cotto

But both are past prime imo and the Ring MW title is there for the taking. Unless Martinez comes out looking like his old self, GGG is the best MW around today imo

Honestly I don't like the idea of cotto holding a middle weight strap when he's clearly not a middle weight though beating Martinez would be quite impressive even a current version of Martinez. It's actually a winnable fight for cotto if he remains assertive. There are stark similarities between Carlos Quintana and Martinez's in terms of styles though Sergio is more explosive and less awkward. Cotto while physically challenged in this bout has the right style to capitalize on Sergio's flaws....interesting bout.

I can imagine this scenario playing out, but TBH I personally wouldn't consider a WW or JMW who won the MW title at a catchweight to be a legitimate lineal champion, specially when there is a genuine Middleweight in GGG who has been awaiting the title shot

Good job Martinez wipes the floor with Cotto, otherwise Floyd would be pouncing like a Hyena to tear the belt from Cotto & announce himself as the greatest ever with all his fanboys looking on in a mixture of awe & pride at his achievement/money/ppv's/bitches etc etc.

i can't see cotto beating martinez. he hasn't done anything really at jmw to think he'll beat even a shop worn martinez at mw (even a catchweight).

think cotto should stick to canelo. i still think he a chance in that fight.
