If Cotto goes the distance with Margo..?

There's a good chance it will not go the distance, I think this fight will play out to how much punishment the solid chinned Margo can absorb before he wilts or his corner throws in the towel.

 

Yes it will because haters do that... They just look for excuses to hate. They talk about him as if he has a questionable chin but I bet you that most of those people have not taken a punch from the boxers Cotto has.

 

If he gets hit with a lot of clean punches, no. If he avoids 95% of Margo's hard punches, probably.

You can't really say before the fight has happened.

 

If this fight goes the distance - I can see this being a shutout UD for Cotto ... even though Margarito turns it up - just for the fight getting this far tells me that Margarito is having a hard time landing and can't find a target.

 

Moreover, this also would mean Cotto had just made a wonderful display of boxing. In two words, he showed us a boxing clinic.

 

That all depends on how clean and often Cotto is hit.

If he takes some flush uppercuts and walks through it (unlikely) then I think people would relax about his chin.

If he avoids Margarito all night and walks with a gift decision the chin talks will commence.

 

SO! if he cleanly outpoints him will you consider that a gift decision????

It'll be a gift decision if he potshots and is outworked by Margarito down the stretch.
