Nah, Cotto said that he's gonna finish his career with Top Rank, which would make a Canelo showdown impossible. Before we discuss any future fights for Cotto though, let's not dismiss Delvin Rodriguez. This guy is old school. He's a flashy combination puncher with quick hands, good instincts and he always comes to fight...when his opponent will oblige him. Oh and did I mention that he also takes a punch really well and is almost always in peak condition? I'm not saying he's going to win ( unlikely to KO Cotto and even less likely that he'll get the nod in Orlando) but, I do believe that he could outwork Cotto and slice him up in route to a close(possibly even controversial) decision loss.

Cotto needs to cut to '47 and take on Boner

    This.

No Cotto fan should be looking past this fight. Make no mistake this is no gimme fight, and have no clue why Cotto took it.

But, hypothetically, if Cotto wins, theres so many options available to him, that as long as he fights one of the following, id be happy.

    TOP RANK :
    JMM/Bradley winner @ 147
    Ruslan/Alvarado winner @ 147

    GBP
    Canelo @ 154
    Danny Garcia @ 147
    Adrien Broner @ 147
    Matthysse @ 147
    Miadana @ 147

His options are plenty. But really, Canelo should be the only fighter at 154 he should consider facing.

He should work hard and come in in shape at 147.... but, he probably wont, and continue fighting guys too big for him at 154 and take another L soon.

Honestly, a loss to Delvin will not surprise me here. This is no gimme fight. Hope Cotto wins though as theres so many good fights to make should he win.

Yeah Rodriguez in no walk over, Cotto refuse's easy fights which I like about him. After 2 loss's nobody would have blamed him if he picked some glass jawed bum to KO.

I think if he looks really impressive he may get Floyd again. Roach would like to have that opportunity IF Cotto looks good.

Corto should definitely move back down to 147, really hope the rumours of him going up to 160 to take onMartinez are not true bbecause he would get obliterated

I don't think He would obliterate Rodriguez, the dominican is very durable and can fight, and His fight with Trout He looked bad.

I would rather Cotto take on Martinez.Sergio is a smallish middle and clearly on his last legs.Great opportunity for Cotto and a very makeable fight.

I personally dont like the Rod fight. I dont know WHY or WHO choose him as his opponent. Just like the Trout fight, very dificult fighters, not necesary BETTER than Cotto but dificult styles, NATURALS at 54lb, with height and reach advantage.

IMHO, very dificult fight for Miguel. :think

He stated that he has NO contract with TR, this is a ONE fight deal and he can jump ship if he likes so a fight vs Canelo is very, very possible and one that he has a good chance of wining as well.

    Yeah, why not?

Rodriguez is a very creditable scalp and Canelo is himself coming off a loss. It's hardly as though Canelo is sitting up on Mount Olympus where Cotto would be even much of a B-side in the negotiations, let alone having to come genuflecting like a beggar.
