I appreciate that, but in the mind's of the hardcore fans, I think once Mosley beat Margarito, it was obvious who was the man at beat. It was no longer Cotto, it hadn't been him since he got beatdown by Margarito. It's not like Margarito was a guy who came out of nowhere, he held good wins at 147lbs himself, and had held a belt for a number of years. Same as Mosley, his fight over Cotto is hotly disputed. Whatever you make of the term "the man", Mosley is the man on top right now at Welter, everyone else is either coming off losses (Clottey, Cotto) or haven't been a factor at the weight. (Mayweather, Pacquiao).
No because the Margo beating on Cotto took a lot out of him. Is there much of a debate if Mosley and Cotto fought now that Mosley would win? I'm sure 8 out of 10 here would put $ on Shane.
I didn't see Margo take a knee looking like he was hit with a 2 x 4 (or plaster hands). Who would you bet on if they were to fight tomorrow, Mosley or Cotto?
Not at all. Mosley was clearly the man at 147. After Cotto, Pac would have to beat Mosley(or Floyd if he beats Mosley) to be the man.
Mosely, because obviously he did good in his last outing with Margo and Cotto suffered yet another beatdown from Pac.
