If Cotto redeems himself on December 03rd

I know – what a surprise! Cotto looks strained at the weight and gets wobbled a few times and Floyd’s interested in making the fight. Soon as Cotto moves to 147, looks sturdy again and beats all the guys Floyd was avoiding? He answers with silence.

But let’s look at it clearly. Even Floyd admitted Cotto wasn’t ready at 22 fights or something, especially when Floyd was 32-0:

That was at the time of the Bruseles fight in 2005. Cotto struggled with Torres shortly after, beat up Malignaggi, then moved up to 147. In that time, Mayweather beat up on Gatti (who wasn’t that good a fighter) then stepped up to 147.

So, please tell me at what point Mayweather seriously entertained this fight? I know you like defending his every move, but the facts speak for themselves.

 

Cotto - Mayweather 100% doesnt happen for me. For 1, the fight is at least 4 years too late. 2, Arum would rather match him up with a Pac rematch rather than Mayweather, and 3, it makes more sense for Cotto to be challanging at 154 against guys like Canelo, JCCJr, etc

 

It should be zero chance. Its a fight no one should want to see. Until Pac beats JMM though then he can fight any decent opponent and it makes sense. Winning a second belt at 154 is a hell of an accomplishment.

Cotto v Mayweather would be soooo pointless, they missed the boat for that a long time ago. Cotto's shine is long gone.
