If Cotto still had the "0" next to his name would he have been favored to win...

his fight with Pacquiao? Or do you feel Pacquaio would still be the live dog in this matchup?

that you cant tell. a simple twist on the past would have bigger effect on what is to come. lets just put it this way, what if japan never attacked pearl harbor? no one can tell.its anybodys guess.

If Cotto would have kept his "0" he would have fought Oscar and possibily beat him leaving him in a total different position to where he is now. Different fights would have been made.

completely agree. Oscar would have fought Cotto instead of Manny, who might have still gone on to face Hatton, but things would be entirely different right now. It would be doubtful if this match up would even be happening and be as monumental as it seems, had Cotto beat Marg.

Interesting idea. Certainly some of the luster that has come off wouldn't have. There would be no calls of damaged goods, etc. I could see some people still saying Pacman has the edge, speed kills and such. I'd have to say Cotto probably would be the fav going in.

Most likely Cotto would be the overwhelming favorite. He probably still should be considered the favorite.

WOW... it's crazy how things can change with a li'l turn... Had Cotto won his match with Margarito, there would be no talk of this fight whatsoever & we would be talking about how MC defeated DLH, and is now #1 P4P.... and JMM/FMJ would have never happened since FM would still be retired!!

    Assume:

Cotto, the most feared boxer at 147lb division with a perfect record of 35(28KO)-0-0? No one dares touching him at this division! Not even PBF man! At this rate, his only option is to campaign at MW.

I don't think Freddy Roach would never pit his best man Pacquiao with this beast Cotto. Manny might fight the best fighters at 140lb division, as even Roach said that Pacquiao will never campaign again at 147 (after his fight with ODLH).

    ---

After Cotto got TKOed by Marg and got his SD with Clottey, Roach decided to fight Cotto, because Freddy already knew how to deal with the Angel. Fred has seen the flaws Cotto has, and so the fight was made..

    Just IMO folks..
