If Paul utilizes his reach and fights on the outside, I would say his chances are pretty good.

But I would still go with Cotto:D

Paul and Shane are nothing alike. styles make fights and it's 2 completely different fights. nothing can be taken from the Shane fight that would be relevent to a fight with Paul Williams.

Williams fighting like he fought tonight is a DANGER early on to anyone at Welterweight. Quintana has a solid chin, but he was knocked silly. And he couldn't get out of reach of that giant winging wingspan.

If I where a Williams fan I would be concerned about that paper thin long lanky body against Cotto. Williams would have to be on his bike to keep Cotto off him.

True nezy, but Cotto would have to give mad respect to Williams power and reach -- and even his surprisingly effective inside fighting.

Cotto's amazing, but he can be hurt. We've all seen it agains Corely and Williams is more like Hearns than Corely

Very...mainly because Carlos came in with his hands all down and Williams wrecked him for it.

    Cotto still beats Paul..and easily.

Very impressive, fast, brutal stoppage. Didn't see that Carlos had his hands down more so than in his last fight, just that Williams caught him.

I think that's the Williams magic factor. He's gonna be a tough test early on in fights, because he can bang from distance or up close.

Cotto beats him easliy?? I'm not gonna be naive enough to think that.

Don't forget that Quintana also outboxed Williams, just 4 months ago. They are 1 and 1

I think its a good fight though, Cotto vs PW

True Pharoh. And Marg/Williams was a fairly even scrap. But Williams looked sharp tonight. He looked hungry and on his game. He's gonna be a factor in this division.

Williams looked very motivated and hungry tonight as opposed to his first encounter with Quintana. I think he took him lightly the first time.

Kinda like when Cotto nearly lost to Lovemore N'Dou. Obviously Lovemore is not in Cotto's level but it was a close one, very close.
