Im not sure about this fight, but Williams had a rematch clause and Carlos really had no choice but to give a rematch.

The first fight wasnt a boxing lesson, what Carlos did to Julio was a boxing lesson, the fight with Williams was a tough fought earned win that was a round or two from being a draw. The second fight cleared everything up. Carlos would get whacked in a third fight as well.

These are two different situations....Everyone including Rahman new he landed a lucky punch....Up until that split second mental laps by Lewis. Lennox was winning the fight and toying with Rahman.. Lennox helps prove my point in their 2nd fight. By dropping the Hammer of the Thunder God himself THOR onto Rahmans skull.

now that Froud is retired, they have no choice, but to make it happend the is Williams can make the weight by that time. Because damm he loked like a light heavy, against quintana and quintana is not a small Welter.

 

They both were under trained and looking past the guy in the ring...One got knocked out one lost a close UD..both came back and blow that same guy away easy..Yet i can see all the difference:roll:

 

Due to the money issue Carlos could've declined, and would not have been at fault. Since they were trying to pay him even less then the first fight. Also I beg to differ with it not being a boxing lesson the first time around. The only rounds Williams won in that fight. Were the rounds Q was conserving energy due to stamania issues and even those rounds were close.

I don't know maybe I'm old skool and it's my way of thinking, but if you beat me, and I beat you....Then lets go at it again to settle the score. After that it leaves no doubt anymore in anyones mind. Who the better man and fighter is.

Being that my post wasn't directed towards you originally and you chimed in. My original point again is that the situations are different because one man was winning their fight easy (show boating at that) 3 rounds to nothing and then "BAM"...Lucky Punch....So the 2nd fight proved what the beginning of the first fight was headed towards...A decisive win for the better fighter. Which in truth was Lennox.

Instead unlike Williams looking befuttled, confused continuosly getting tagged by the same punch over and over throughout the first fight. To lose a clear and lopsided decision. There was no lucky TKO or hay maker that landed. It was the man with the better skillz that won on that night. That's what's the point, and if your going to be sarcastic and a smart ass with using the rolling eyes...At least be smart and not just an ass.

To me it's simple.....Carlos won the first fight by out boxing Williams, and Williams won the second fight by out slugging Carlos. As a boxing fan what's wrong with wanting to see who can repeat their victories back to back to decide who in the end is the better fighter? That's how you build a boxing legacy isn't it....Oh yeah I forgot boxers and some fans now a days don't want that....Only money matters and ppv numbers...How stupid of me to think that way atsch

By that same logic I could say that since Williams nearly lost to Margarito Cotto would destroy him easily.

 

And lets not forget Quintana DID once beat williams, if quintana can do it.....
