Even if Floyd won an immediate rematch, I think it would facilitate negotiations more easily. Not just because Arum would be more willing to risk his cash cow, but also because Floyd's 0 and status in his mind as "the man to beat" who deserves the superior benefits financially would have much less weight.
Surely a fight with Pacquiao will be pursued since Arum would assume Mayweather would soften up on the negotiations table, but I would still expect Mayweather to stick with his demands. Fully expecting Cotto vs Martinez in November at 154 IF a rematch with Mayweather doesn't happen.

I'd imagine Mauweather would get a rematch but Cotto may look for revenge against Pac - whether they could agree on weight is another matter.
