Yeah I could see it happening but I'm sure Paul's ribs wont enjoy their encounter either.

Yes, this is the number one guys that Cotto should stay away from. I think obviously PBF would beat Cotto as well, but at least he would be losing to the consensus p4p champ in FLoyd. Against Williams he would be fighting the dark horse of the divison, the guys nobody wants to fight (because he is so dangerous), most people dont know who Williams is. If Cotto lost to Williams than they would be like "wow who the hell is williams" ( Not knowing how good he really is). VEry risky fight for Cotto, could upset his little applecart.

Neither would Cotto's chin, which would give out around round 7 or so.

What? Williams is a good fighter but he has become crazy overrated since he beat Margarito.

I seriously doubt that, both men would find it difficult to fight one another though I feel Cotto would find his way to Williams body much more frequently than Williams finding Cotto's chin with good power shots. Is it just me....why do people keep on doubting Cotto's abilities :think its starting to get quite ridiculous.

I think he's rated just fine behind PBF and Cotto.

Cotto's only chance would be to take Williams into the later rounds, where Margarito had the most success. If Cotto's a bigger puncher and better finisher, he might take him out. Otherwise, decision for Williams.

Williams is to tall and fast for cotto. He throws 100 punches a round and he is a lefty. Cotto is awesome and it wont be a walk in the park for williams but i just dont see anyone in the welter weight division who can get in his way. its best cotto ducks him untill he gets mayweather.

Cotto had never been difficult to find, with Williams's long condor like wing span, he could keep Cotto on the end of his jab all night. Of course Cotto would have to bore his way in to launch his vaunted body attack, but he would have to eat a lot of leather to get to Williams's body. The question is, how much leather can Cotto eat? Margarito ate a lot, I dont think Cotto's can take that many punches to the head as Margarito absorbed.

    absolutley not....

paul williams is a more of a threat to floyd than to cotto due to styles, williams leaves his body open and punches all over the place without any defense, margarito was able to land body shots, now cotto is a great accurate body puncher who is always calm uunlike margarito who is wild, cotto would break his big tall skinny body down.

margarito would be a tougher fight for cotto.

That's what I remember aswell. I only saw the fight once but from what I remember Williams had a hard time with Margo in the later rounds. I guess I need to see more of Williams but I don't think he would beat Cotto or Floyd. Maybe I'm wrong.
