No ... The definition of pound for pound to me is not somebody that fights 30- 40 lb below their normalised weight.. especially if you are fighting in the smaller classes… which Crawford does.. That is ridiculous… in truth Crawford should be a light middle/MW now but he'd get his arse handed to him
No. Truth is that the claim he had for p4p #1 was always pretty weak anyway. I think the same for guys like Kovalev and even Loma, Usyk to me is the first guy who I feel is truly deserving.
With Manny Pacquiao retired, Crawford becomes my favorite active fighter but the answer is no. If you have Crawford ranked in your top five pound for pound fighters then you should be expecting a victory over Porter. The win should prove you are rating him correctly. If Crawford is not in your top five then there is no way that a win over Porter should move him all the way up to number one.
From beating Porter? No I don't see it and I rate Crawford. Porter's a good fighter but he usually loses when he faces the very top guys so it's not like it's a remarkable win. I'd rate it below Lopez beating Loma or Usyk beating Joshua. If Crawford beats Porter and then Spence then he's in the running at least along with his other achievements but he's wasted too much time fighting nobodies while others have added to their resumes for him to rank number 1 just off of a win over Porter.
Not even close. He will beat Porter and I think he will KO Porter. Porter is a gatekeeper at this time. He comes close but never wins his biggest fights. I suspect the same will be true this time except he will not come close. Crawford will knock him out. Bring on Spence if Earl decides to man up.
