The handspeed and countering was the problem. Added weight might help Spence be more energetic, but he was knocked down in round 2.
Will literally make zero difference in my opinion, the gulf in skills can't be overcome by the extra weight. Even if lets say Spence was drained, all it would really mean is he's more aggressive, so walks into more counters and takes the shots a bit better which means he takes an even worse beating as he lasts longer and eats so many more shots.
No. It's purely speculative too imagine how the Bud-Errol fight might have unfolded in early 20019 I picked Spence going into last night (with some misgivings because of how he's looked post-accident), but after watching how Bud handled him last night, I'd be doubtful if Spence could ever have pulled it off. Re 154: while weight drainage was a factor, it was a very small factor in comparison to the difference in speed and skills exhibited by Crawford, in his third weight class, facing a naturally bigger man who had never been down, much less stopped. Unless Crawford has reached his limit for weight-jumping, I think he still prevails over Spence at 154.
Crawford is too technically skilled for Spence, who’s very sloppy and is chinny from what we’ve seen last night…
