    Not even close

it would be him at 1 and everyone would be way below him . Usyk, inoue etc

That would be two victories over two top 5 p4p fighters and the second of which he has to move up 14 pounds

A career JRWW and WW fighter btw and he’s in his last 30s

I think the outcome of this bout will come down to who has the most advanced PED regime between the two.

It's hard to argue otherwise. Beating Canelo would deservingly put him at the top. But what about the other side of that coin. if Canelo wins, particularly if it's impressive or dominant, it would be hard to deny him the P4P #1 spot as well.

You're not going to find a better win than beating Crawford from any of the other top P4Pers. With Canelo's resume and body of work, it would be hard to deny him that if he were to defeat Crawford. Canelo was P4P #1 when he lost to Bivol, and since then, well, he's pretty much dominated everyone he's fought, beating several quality undefeated fighters in the process. The performance vs Scull certainly left a lot to be desired, but beating guys like GGG, Ryder, Munguia, Charlo, and Berlanga the way he did were impressive.

While I would agree that Crawford winning would be more impressive than Canelo winning due to the fact that he's coming up multiple weight classes, Canelo winning would also be huge, and certainly in terms of P4P.

If Canelo stops Crawford, or even wins a decision in which he impresses, Canelo would have a strong argument to be P4P #1. It's difficult to know if that would happen. But for all intents and purposes, this is for P4P supremacy.

This is important for each man's legacy. For Canelo to fight a guy as proven and as skilled as Crawford, this is a big test for him as well. Lets not forget this. Many are picking Crawford to win, due to his sublime skillset and his ability to figure out every opponent he's ever fought. While Canelo is bigger, as in thicker, he's also never really dealt with someone as skillful and as stylistically difficult as Bud.

This is truly a Dream Matchup and I can't wait to see how these two Legends match up in the squared circle.

Nah, even Bud has been quoted as placing Usyk at #1. Of course this depends on the results of DDD vs OU.

One of the very few instances of @MVC! giving a totally reasonable and agreeable position. Wonder if he meant to log into one of his alts to post this lol.

Correct. If he wins against Canelo he's P4P #1 for sure. Granted any fighter or athlete at the top of the food chain will always have detractors. I've already seen soft "pre-excuses" but I think it will be difficult to deny him that with a straight face. Unless it's a weird ending e.g. an injury or whatever.

No. It would be a fantastic win but the likes of Usyk and Inoue haven't often needed gifts to "win" their fights, unlike Mr Gingernut.

No matter what Crawford does he will never surpass the mighty Usyk.

IDK why so many are obsessed w saying Bud's on PEDs. Yes, he uses Conte. There's literally no other reason for suspicion...that I'm aware of.

The issue with Canelo winning is how Bud is at that weight. If it is apparent that the extra weight made Bud slow or was too small, then haters will discredit that win. Thre are too many unknowns to pick this fight. All the unknowns are on Bud. I'll be pulling for TC, but I'm not putting money on him.

He would be no where near 1. Beating Khan, Brook etc doesn't a career of status make. .

Beating Caleno would be a great win...but it doesn't put him past Usyk or Inoue for me.

You don't need another reason  .. but maybe this is a clue.. Crawfords everyday weight was 180lbs when he was boxing at 140 .. he's one of the biggest weight cutters in the sport in recent years.. but but 'its just hard work baby' ..

Don't see how beating Canelo wouldn't make him #1 P4P. The other two candidates in Inoue and Usyk wouldn't have a win comparable to that.

Usyk has Fury, but Canelo is a better and far more accomplished fighter than Fury, and is undisputed. Inoue wouldn't have any win touching a win over Canelo.

Along with that, Crawford is like 37 years old, jumping up two weight classes (basically 3 since he only had one fight at 154) to fight Canelo. And this is a fight where upon initial talks of it happening people gave Crawford no chance and said he was simply chasing a retirement paycheck. This is a fight where Canelo stands to earn nothing more than money, because Crawford is so badly disadvantaged. He is a HEAVY underdog here. With the scheduled and rumoured fights that Inoue and Usyk have, there would be simply no way for them to surpass Crawford in the scenario he wins, atleast until he lost in another fight, went back to being inactive, or retired.

I mean more than half of today's champs are weight cutters. Look at Benavidez, Charlos, Spence, Haney (at 135), Fundora, Callum Smith (at 168), etc.

Bud might not even be Top 10 worst weight cutters...
