If the Cruiserweight division had always existed... How do you like this cheeky little top 15? 1. Langford 2. Dempsey 3. Johnson 4. Marciano 5. Holyfield 6. Louis 7. Tunney 8. Fitzsimmons 9. Choynski 10. Patterson 11. Walcott 12. Charles 13. Schmeling 14. Corbett 15. Jeanette Just missing the cut: Conn, Moore, Sharkey, Johansson, Moorer, Greb, and countless others I've probably forgotten... Would love to hear your lists. I also understand that this is the ultimate hypothetical ATG list, but when you give me abuse, let's keep it witty, eh?
When Moorer first moved up to heavyweight before he put on a lot of weight he was awful at heavy, still easy to hit but not knocking out people in the same fashion a he was at light heavy, it was later on in his career when he developed some serious boxing moves, so I don`t think he wa anywhere near top 20 cruiser. I feel Roy Jones would have beaten Moorer at cruiser.
I didn't want to list a top twenty, yet I felt a top ten was restricting me. So I went for a top 15. Fair play. Maybe you're right. Personally, I've always thought Moore was criminally overrated, bit I included him for form's sake.
You mean Moorer, I feel Archie did better against Marciano than Moorer would of at either fighter`s weight at that time, Archie was harder to hit than Moorer and took Marciano`s punches better than Michael would of.
There has been talk of creating such a division intermittently since Jeffries day, but of course it never came to anything, until it came to anything.
