At an all time low. FFS, you know exactly what punch he's going to throw every time. The only reason Malignaggi lost os because he is Malignaggi... A shot to pieces gatekeeper.
So why hasn't his last 31 opponents figured out how to knock danny out if he isn't a top fighter? Can't believe the amount of hate and bitterness this kid recieves on here, even though he's got one of the best records in boxing today out of most of the top fighters, besides, floyd, kovalev and wlad. Guess Danny needs to start beating women, take peds, declare jihad and accuse other fighters of juicing before he gets any props on here.
He isn't a blight on the sport because of his chin. :huh Why are you even bringing up people not being able to stop him. Nobody can stop 50yo Oliver McCall or Juan "Fenix" Ruiz either, and they aren't top fighters. Whatever point you think you're making, it didn't work. Garcia's a blight on the sport because he's a) boring, with the slowest p4p hands of any prominent televised champion, b) cherry picks, a lot in recent times, c) receives gift decisions over even his cherry picked opposition (at least two occasions), and d) has proven lazy about making weight or committing to defending his belt in one division. Plus he is arrogant but not in a way that is even all that entertaining to draw in casuals with train-wreck appeal (like a Broner) - just plain old arrogant in kind of a boring way. Literally everything about him makes boxing look bad. He's a guy that MMA proponents can point to and say "this slow, low-work rate and low-accuracy, telegraphing gorilla is what passes for a champion in boxing nowadays? HA! It really is dead..." Garcia has a chin, and, when he can land it, a mean crispy left hook. What he doesn't have is any dimensionality, ability to cut the ring off, particularly great timing for a low-output counter-puncher, or anything to point to and say "boxing is a sport of intricate skill, why just look at this fine champion for instance..."
Who gives a damn what MMA fanboys have got to say? You really worry about how boxing is perceived outside of the sport? Garcia isn't the most entertaining or dynamic fighter, but he's got top names on his record who he wasn't suppose to beat and gets the W. He's just moved up to 147 and already fought peterson and paulie and he gets ****. You want him to fight A fcking brook or maidana in his first fights at a new weight? He cleaned up 140 and gets no credit and he gets **** because he had a bad night against Herrera even though he landed more power shots on the night and was difficult to judge.
This. He lost to Herrera and arguably Lamont, but dude has achieved a massive amount for a so called poor boxer.
But he's way better than your hero Canelo who is yet to beat top ten guy in his division without the assistance of golden girl judges.
Lost those, was getting outclassed by Matthysse before the swelling, made his name off beating a shot Morales and then enhanced it beating a shot Judah, struggled too much with Theophane (although people claiming it was was a robbery go too far, and Theophane does have a style to make anyone look ugly), cherry picked Salka and Malignaggi...and Herrera though it backfired, refused to make weight for 2 consecutive fights while holding the LWW belt hostage... Garcia's flourish on his career is battering Khan into doing a gas station wobble-man dance, and that is is a testament both to Khan's deficiencies and Garcia's heavy-handedness, rather than evidence he isn't a slow and very limited boxer. He gets by on chin, heavy-handedness, and excellent management. Basically he is a Chavez Jr. 2.0.
