If Danny Jacobs had the same resume as GGG, what would people say about him?

You're talking to a poster who admitted he doesn't watch a lot of boxing. He's barely seen any Lara fights, other than the on versus canelo (His own words BTW).

Think Isal's watched any of those low profile fights? He's a May 5th/Sept 16 casual fan at the most. For over ten years, he's worshiped ODLH and now canelo. Clearly casual at best.

Yeah, Jacobs is, like, damaged goods, man. Beating him doesn't mean anything because that bum Mora also dumped him on the canvas. And Saunders, well he just sucks. When is GGG going to step it up and fight Usyk and Lebedev? He's also clearly ducking Wilder. Terrible resume :hollering:

Floyd relied more on timing, reflexes. His speed doesn't force guys to retreat and survive.

You're so smart, but not smart enough to read the original question: ".....what would 'people' say about him?"

GGG beating Saunders and Jacobs will be "good" wins, very good for his legacy as defending champion. A "great" win would be someone like Zurdo Ramirez. If GGG were to beat up Zurdo that would be a great win as Zurdo is a division up, bigger and undefeated in 36 fights

People like to pretend that Floyd's greatness was all do to technique but the truth is that dude was really fast, and you can't do the kind of things he did if you aren't fast. It also didn't hurt that he usually had height and reach advantage. He didn't force guys to retreat, but his ability to beat guys to the punch neutralized a lot of people's offense and made them reluctant to punch, the same way that Golovkin's power does.

Is Golovkin's record worse than Hall of Famer Orlando Canizales who defended the IBF strap sixteen times?

That is a good question. There is a good deal of importance to a long reign as a champion. But since I don't have the proper knowledge of Canizales, I'll have to concede to someone else's opinion on this.

    Good question though!

floyd being "fast" had a part in it....but lets no pretend like his reflexes later in his career were similar to , say, the gatti fight....years and rounds of sparring have led to muscle memory reflex and floyd being able to read tells and patterns....he was able to beat guys to the punch later because of that....

I'd say if there was any black American fighter with a 17 fight KO streak he would get praise and attention.

to answer the question as bluntly as possible....100 percent without any doubt most of ESB would slam jacobs to death if he was golovkin....they slam ward daily and hes done better than both combined
