If David Diaz beats Manny Pacquiao how will this affect the lightweight and P4P rankings? How much will Diaz's stock rise? His wins are a close win over Erik Morales and a 10th round ko of Jose Armando Santa Cruz in a fight he was losing by scores of: 88-83, 88-83, 87-84.

If Pac loses a close one, I wouldn't drop him too far seeing as how it's his first fight at 135, but he won't lose.. He'll stay #1 :)

Amir Khan will still be number one at the weight.

paquiao lost against marquez in mi opinion and diaz lost to morales imo but as far as dias beating paquia is unlikly diaz strugle in his last figth against a mediocre boxer, the only way diaz beats manny is if he figths dirty and gets manny frustrated

i think pacquiao gets drop but would still be top 5 or 5 at most, but if he lose in a devastating way i would probably drop him off the top 10 p4p list considering that diaz is a mediocre champ but thats a very very big if as because its very unlikely to happen. Pac will win

diaz would probably be a top 5 LW btw or top 3

Diaz is one of the weakest champions today. He earned an interim title via lucky punch KO, was awarded the full championship by Mr. Sulaiman to clear the pass for Morales for the 4th division crown, but somehow the judges awarded the decision to Diaz what Morales deserved - how could that happen is a mistery for me... :huh

On the other hand, I don't want to disrespect the guy. David Diaz is a nice guy with above average fighting skills, an exciting style and with a very good punch (Santa Cruz was schooling him up to the point where Diaz did what every puncher should: KO the boxer ahead on the cards). He's a tough kid to overcome a beating... But on paper, it's all PacMan... Pac should walk through him like Mayweather did to Gatti or Pavlik to Lockett... anything but a quick, exciting one-sided beatdown will be disappointing...

Joe C would take over No.1 spot.

It depends how the fight goes in relation to how far Pac drops down the P4P list.

David Diaz is not a great world champion: he barely beat a shot Morales (I had Erik winning) and he was way behind against Santa Cruz before the latter got sloppy. I think if Diaz were to win it would be more a case of Pac stepping up one division too many, or being over the hill a bit, or being under-motivated and looking the past the fight to bigger things on the horizon, or maybe a combo of all three.

If Manny Pacquioa loses then he drops outside my top 10 p4p on that basis that I also had him losing his last fight.

I'm not looking for predictions. I'm looking to get an idea of how rankings would be affected by a certain result no matter how unlikely it might be.

. . . if Diaz beats Pacquaio then Pac might finally realize his limitations and go back to 130.

Meanwhile Diaz will finally get recognition and have a crack at unification.

Anything can happen in boxing but I don't think that Pac fans think that there is such possibility. Pac by Ko is the popular choice. :yep
