its Haye's words that got him ripped for picking Rahman. he could have fought Chambers, peter, he could have picked anyone. The first names he picked were Mercer and Rahman. Those choices didnt really match his words. Did it? I could see people being upset if Wlad straight out picked Rahman.... but he didnt. It was a last minute replacement.

 

Bull, team KLiT selected Rahman...picked the easiest fight he thought he could get the org to allow to count as his mandatory...even though the Rock was nowhere near mandatory status.

What Wlad got was a voluntary that counted as a mandatory.

Povetkin was the mandatory hurt or not, Povetkin getting hurt doesn't make Rock the mando...come on dude. It was a voluntary, the org pulled a fast one for him.

I'm not saying WLAD should have been stripped, but the mando should have been postphoned...KLiT should have fought whoever, but not as a mandatory since the opponent did not earn mandatory status.

 

Why Toney over Rahamn?

Only for legacy? I can tell you Wlad doesnt worry about his legacy. That stuff works itself out. I think that is very cocky to pick fights for your own legacy. Legacy is what the fans think of you IMO

Blame the IBF. They are the ones to grant it. and dont say they gave it to him because they like him. Wlad and the IBF dont get along.
Does it really matter. Povetkin is still getting his shot. He wouldnt have been ready much before Sept anyways

 

No, he only would have got ripped because Toney would make it to the final bell. He always does.

I am not suprised that he doesn't care about his legacy...you can tell by watching him fight.
