Surely he must be voted BBC sports personality of the year? I know the BBC are'nt big on boxing but in a year where there's been no spectacular sporting achievments as such... I'll be having some of the 25's you can get on him at the mo. Ok Jenson Button's favourite, and I know **** all about F1, but the twat only won 2 or somat races before this season so surely it's the car? And England won the ashes.... woopy ****in doo. 2 countrys,2 teams, the best side lost... And you'd think they'd won the world ****in cup....I know **** all about cricket either by the way. Even Ryan ****in Giggs is shorter odds than Haye(ok maybe he deseves a little recognition for services to the premier league) and who the **** is Jessica Ennis? Anyway, I'm convinced David Haye wins on saturday night so he gets my vote...And 25/1 on a probable British world heavyweight champ is a ****in gift. Good night God bless.:good
I can;t see it mate. Its a popularity contest, Haye just hasn't had enough exposure and I don't think a Valuev win will be enough to change that.
Someone with half the talent and personality David has will win...probably some Sailing nut or some pony rider...complete joke of a contest some years.
You don't seem to know an awful lot about any sport other than boxing? I could say why each of those deserve the award more than Haye (who I love by the way) but would you get it?
haye will probs be 2nd. Button 1st. when you think about it froch deserves to be ahead of Haye. won 3 fights agaisnt world class opponents and also won outside the UK
If Haye beats Valuev in dramatic style he could stand a chance of winning the sports personality of the year just because the fight is near the end of the year and he will be fresh in the publics mind. I personally think Ennis deserves it out of the ones you mentioned but athletics is probably less popular than boxing and she won her medal in the summer so people may not give much of a **** anymore.
The difference is that the Beeb will have plenty of footage of Ennis "doing her stuff" on the build up programs, adverts etc, thats what makes people remember and vote. they'll have nothing to show of Haye from the last 2-3 years.
Ah right. I didn't think about that. Could the Beeb not pay a fee to the other stations to show some Haye clips or are they to stingy for that?
I've seen the Sports Personality show screens with still pictures of boxing action on because the couldn't/ wouldn't pay for footage....
i am most fukkin unfortunatley gopin to miss this fight, workin late shift, so will avoid it untill sunday morning!! I do hope Haye wins and is victorious is impressive style.
