If Dawson can beat Ward, he can do what only Joe Calzaghe has done.

Now I know The Ring title is only a magazine belt, but Sir Joe Calzaghe was the first and only fighter ever to hold The Ring title in 2 weight divisions simultaneously.
If Dawson manages to beat Ward he can become the second fighter to do this, and do it in the same division by having beat one of Calzaghes leftovers to have done it. Coincidence or what?

Sadly though I cannot see this happening. Dawson was exposed when he fought Pascal and has no pedigree at all at SMW, and seemed to jump away from the tougher SMW division years ago to fight in the weaker LHW division, where he fought alot of older fighters. Now SMW is at a weak time he is giving it a shot, but I think he has adjusted too well at LHW to be strong in the later rounds.
Ward will easily beat Dawson, and I could see the fight being similar to Wards fight with A Green.

Europe has a history of producing good and great SMWs and I think Irish Andre Ward will be too much for Chad Dawson, and with the fight in Oakland and at SMW it just confirms what I already felt.

    Clear easy UD for Ward

**** the RING belt. it hasn't meant much IMO since the corrupt asses gave it to Cassa after the worst decision of the decade against Santa Cruz.

Whoever wins Dawson or Ward will have done more than Calzaghe. Hell Ward already did more than Calzaghe.

    WTF :patsch

Wards biggest win is Kessler who Calzaghe beat when undefeated

Ward has no wins as good as beating Eubank. None

Wards win over Froch wasnt as good as many of Calzaghes other wins like Mitchell, Reid and Lacy.

Then Calzaghe has the wins over other SMW title holders who have done far more at SMW than weight weak Dawson in Woodhall, Veit, Brewer, plus all of the other top 10 rated SMWs Calzaghe beat. Forget all about Calzaghe going up in weight and beating Jones and Hopkins and at SMW alone, Calzaghe has done far more

Is this a joke? Froch would have obliterated the likes of mitchell, Reid and Lacy.

The Dawson of last night would have been smashed by any of the top 5 SMW's today

Dawson will probably fight one or two of the fighters you are referring to. He would easily beat Abraham even at 168. Froch and Kessler would also be underdogs even after the KO. Ward is superior to them all.

Ward has already done more than Calzaghe, hell, anyone in the super six has done more than Calzaghe. The difference between Joe and the super six competitors is, the super six competitors actually faced top level opposition for 2 years runnning, Joe hasn't.

It seems the S6 has fooled you like a child looking at a poster for a toy shop.
    Wards S6 was -
    a Calzaghe leftover in Kessler
A Green who wasnt even as good as Mkertchyan
    Bika a Calzaghe leftover
Abraham who was 1-2 in his last 3 fights
Froch who had lost to Kessler, looked lucky to many against Dirrell and was coming off a MDec over a 43 year old SMW journeyman

joe calzaghe is The only one in history to become Undisputed super middleweight champion he has had 24 championship fights has 3 ATGs on his resume
    Roy Jones Jr
    Chris Eubank
    Bernard Hopkins

Beat 3 Undefeated Fighters who were or became SMW champions

    mikkel kessler 40-0 world champion
    Mario Veit 30-0
    jeff lacy 21-0 world champion

joe calzaghe beat 10 world champions 9 of them smw (Veit had world interim title)

Chris Eubank, was a 2 weight champion and had 24 world tltle fights

Richie Woodhall had 6 world tltle fights

Roy Jones Jr was a 4 weight champion and had 25 world tltle fights

Charles Brewer had 7 world tltle fights

Bernard Hopkins, arguably the best middleweight of all time he has 25 world tltle fights

Mikkel Kessler, has 11 world tltle fights 3 x world champion

Robin Reid had 8 world tltle fights looked unlucky to Ottke by many

Byron Mitchell had 8 world tltle fights 2 x smw champion looked unlucky to Ottke by many

Jeff Lacy had 6 world tltle fights

when has Ward beat someone with over 20 championship fights?......

calzaghe beat 3 guy with over 24 championship fights

    NAME 1 ATG Ward FOUGHT?........

JOE CALZAGHE IS 1 OUT OF ONLY 3 BOXERS IN HISTORY TO BE UNDISPUTED AND UNDEFEATED WORLD CHAMPION

JOE CALZAGHE IS 1 OUT OF 4 MEN IN HISTORY TO HAVE OVER 20 TITLE DEFENCES

JOE CALZAGHE IS THE SECOND LONGEST-REIGNING WORLD CHAMPION IN HISTORY?.....

WHEN Andre Wards RESUME MATCH THAT LET ME KNOW

And todays era is not so strong.
He would be a good stepping stone for Groves or DeGale maybe
