I see that FOTY becomes an open race if Dawson wins against Hopkins, with no clear winner or favorite among the following choices based on their wins in 2011:

    Ward - Abraham, Froch
    Froch - Johnson, Ward
    Donaire - Montiel, Narvaez
    Pacquiao - Mosley, Marquez
    Khan - McCloskey, Judah, Peterson
    Dawson - Diaconu, Hopkins
    W. Klitschko - Haye, Mormeck
    V. Klitschko - Solis, Adamek
    Rios - Acosta, Antillon

Rios still has one more fight this year vs. an unnammed opponent. All the rest are likely not to have any more fight this year so that pretty much settles the choices unless I missed anyone?

I also wanted to put in Salido and Arce as they both have two of the most significant wins this year (Lopez for Salido and Vasquez Jr. for Arce) but their second wins this year significantly pale in comparison (Yamaguchi for Salido and Nongqayi for Arce).

Unless froch or marquez win I would say Donaire.

    In order for me:

    Froch - Johnson, Ward
    Donaire - Montiel, Narvaez
    Ward - Abraham, Froch
    Pacquiao - Mosley, Marquez
    Dawson - Diaconu, Hopkins

But if you factor in their dominance or method of victory, since I think Froch v. Ward and Dawson v. Hopkins will both be very close while Donaire and Pac will likely dominate in their next fight:

    Donaire - Montiel, Narvaez
    Pacquiao - Mosley, Marquez
    Froch - Johnson, Ward
    Ward - Abraham, Froch
    Dawson - Diaconu, Hopkins

Froch without a doubt cause he's not going to beat Ward but anything can happen, that plus Glen Jonhnson is a A+. Very frankly, Chad may beat Hopkins but he's gonna win a close points decision if he does even if that would mean that he will be undeniably the best LHW in the World, I don't think he's going to win sincerely.

I'd like to think either Froch or Donaire. If Froch wins against Ward then he's a lock for Fighter of the Year considering how highly rated Ward is.

Only problem here is that Froch is not going to win a wide UD or knock out Ward, so it's likely going to be a very close perhaps controversial win. Plus his win against Johnson was not really a convincing or dominant one. Even if Froch wins against Ward, I think FOTY would still likely not go to him.

If not him then probably either Donaire or Martinez. If both look sensational in their next fight then it's a pick'em, although Martinez might have a higher chance since he's beating undefeated fighters.

Based on my level of enjoyment and fight excitement I'd say Rios, followed closely by Donaire.

**if Froch Ward fig ht this year, the winner of that fight by a significant margin, both are already in serious contention anyway, but I didn't factor that in to my consideration.

Obviously Pavlik, but if JMM manages to pull off the upset, he'd be my pick for 2nd place. :D

How amazing would it be for hopkins to become fighter of the year at age 46 in 2011 10 years after doing the unthinkable as an old man vs tito and becoming foty in 2001.
All he has to do is beat dawson and he wins it for sure.

If Froch wins, Froch. If Ward wins, Ward. If Hopkins wins, he overtakes the previous two.
