to Pac-man or even a close decision. Should he still be a Hall of Famer? I dont see him losing but any given day you can be beat...
Sure, that would mean he is shot. Great fighters often aren´t knocked with losses late in their career against lower class competition - not to say Pac is, I think he has accomplished more than DLH right now but he has no buisness fighting at that weight. Why should it be different here?
Are you counting a middleweight belt cause Sturm beat him no matter what the judges say. 4 losses this decade. It isn't the same as Mayweather. There wasn't much competition at 130-140 when De la Hoya won those belts. Mayweather beat Castillo twice(once disputed), Corralles, and Manfredy(who wasn't shot then). You should have a career defining fight to be a Hall of Famer (ie Jones vs. Toney, Mayweather vs. Corralles, Toney vs. Nunn, Lewis vs. Holyfield, Pryor vs. Arguello). Chavez vs. De La Hoya doesn't count. Neither does a punch drunk Vargas.
If DLH loses then PAC becomes greater, DLH's legacy loses alot but he is still great because his record is irrefutable.
DLH has a very good resume and very good accomplishments. He is a lock for the HoF but falls short of greatness. I recognize only 25 fighter as great and the only one who has a shot in there since Pernell Whitaker/Julio Cesar Chavez is Manny Pacquiao but he still isn´t up there, a win over Oscar would give him a good chance but I don´t think he has a chance in there.
NO WAY does DLH NOT make the HOF. If you've ever been there, I'm sure you'd agree it is not very impressive. Looks like a collection from some fanatic fan's garage (which is a shame).
Oscar must win. The "PAC beats DLH" idea is unimaginable. Everyone will go crazy if this happens. :yikes
