FW usually has a clause that allows him to drop a fighter after two back-to-back defeats - anyone know if DeGale is in this situation?

Obviously it's unlikely that JD would lose on Saturday but it would be an interesting scenario given his big contract.

If he did lose and I was frank I would probably drop him to cut my loses if I had the chance

however I think he will win

he could drop him, i think they may use it as a chance to renegotiate his contract though

If it was the UFC, his earnings would take a hit. Every boxing promoter should have that in their contract. Every loss should see a percentage hit on his basic promise.

Degale would sign with one of the other promoters and be put back on a network where people will actually see him fight. Doesn't sound too awful to me.

it was a tough fight against groves but i still think hes the brightest young boxer in the country. FW would be foolish to drop him, and he will definitly win on saturday anyway

Yep, I'd be amazed if thats not already built into DeGales (and others) contract.

WIth Degale, if he goes on to do very little but wants to carry on, Frank could at least use him as a name opponent/gauge for any of his prospects.

Frank will keep James I reckon. As it stands, I understand he's fighting a basic Eurofighter this weekend so he should get himself back in the game.

No chance if he lost he would just get him in straight away with Groves for a rematch then look it again after that fight.

WHY THE **** WOULD YOU WANT THIS???!!!

This would just lead to more fighters protecting there 0. And who would suffer for it? Us, the boxing fans.
