True, but I think Duhaupas and Washington would be close to 50 50 to beat Whyte. Whytes close to the same level as Wilders usual opponents and he wouldn't be in much more danger of losing than normal. Which makes them passing on Whyte all the more bizarre. Turn down more money than they ever made before AND a chance to get a higher percentage against AJ in a unification. It makes me think his team just isn't very smart.

Or maybe there is an actual legitimate excuse we don't know about.

Cans and bums?! Hell, Wilder moved up to fighting winos from the alley a long time ago!

He priced himself out, honestly, I don't really consider it a "duck" in the sense he is frightened or purposely avoided Whyte.

In my opinion Wilder is rather delusional, he believes he is worth far more than what he actually is.

Wilder was at Wembley for Joshua Vs WK, he saw the crowd, he saw the event, he saw the impact worldwide and he isn't on that level (nowhere near it) but somewhere in his mind he thinks he is.

So that's where the problem is, Wilder thinks he deserves the money, the event, the respect and he hasn't done anything to earn it.

So he gets paid 1000,000 for a fight and he turns up to fight, hes then offered 4,000,000 and he wont fight. Mate, I don't think its a money issue, I think its safe to say he sees whyte as a very dangerous fight, cant be the money as the moneys already there ! I think it could be definitely regarded as a duck !

Joshua is definitely ducking Wilder. Just like he's ducking Audley Harrison, Tony Bellew and Dave Allen.

Utter coward this chap. Fighting bums like Klitschko when there's these guys waiting for their chance. Smh.

Blizzy mate, the question is not

" Is Deontay Wilder a bum who only beats cans and windmills his shots? "

    Because thats a definite yes.

The question you should be asking is "are Joshua and Wilder both bums?"

to be fair, poor choices, as neither has fought them have they?

but the spirit of the jest is ok, it would have worked with better examples.

All I asked you is if he ducked Whyte. Wilder has a mandatory. He didn't duck anyone or price himself out.

He tried to get out of his mandatory by asking for a fight with Joshua. They could've made a major statement and said eff the belts or they can stay on collision course. Both chose the latter.

wilder's already a name in the HW division by default, but he clearly is content to milk soft defences for the $$$
hopefully, his ego will kick in eventually and he'll fight someone with a pulse

Joshua certainly hasn't fought any of them. He's terrified of them. He refers to them and Wilder as the 'big bad 4' and will do his best to avoid them all for the duration of his career.

Wilder has no right to a mandatory excuse given he fought an unheard of 5 voluntaries in a row!

His lack of ambition is there, he had 5 chances to seek out unification or a meaningful fight...and chose not to.
