How do you guys rate the ground and stand games of both against each other at this point in time? Will it matter if the fight is at middleweight or catchweight in the performance of each? In the boxing aspect, how do you think the styles will mesh? How will Anderson deal with the volume, and aggession of Diaz?...How will Diaz deal with the strength, accuracy and range of Silva?
At this point interesting fight. A while back easy Silva KO victory. The ground games are not comparable. Diaz is a black belt under Cesar Gracie and is a valued instructor out here in NorCal/Bay Area. He's one of the finest grapplers in MMA and is on par with a lot of competitive BJJ only grapplers that do Abu Dhabi and other competitions. In this fight I doubt it matters because you aren't going to see a Silva/Diaz Jiu Jitsu match and Diaz is not a good enough wrestler to keep the fight on the ground. BJJ specialists and wrestlers are very different with BJJ guys having the subs and guard and wrestlers having the explosive takedowns and positioning advantages. GSP easily out wrestled Diaz. Standing game Anderson is light years ahead. Footwork, accuracy, leg strikes and so on. Boxing Diaz is a bit overrated, sloppy but high volume and effective. Fun. But Silva should win if he's got something left.
Guys, this is a gimme.... Nick is tailor made for Anderson. He moves forward with his chin sticking out, and his hands down. Nick will get KO'd in 1 round.
