Yes, but each match should be taken on it's own merits. Judah also lost to Baldomir, then lost to PBF, had a no contest, then lost to Cotto. He just had a very average fight with a no one.

Hatton looked vulnerable at 147 in his first fight there against Collazo, who is better than Baldomir. Hatton will be better adapted this time, and won't come in heavy. He is better than Judah.

IF Cotto dominates Mosley, maybe he can move up. But I am not sold on how good Mosley is any more. I am not buying that beating Collazo, who was doing fine until an injury, and beating shot Vargas means he was what he once was, especially at his age. Plus he is fighting at 147, where Cotto is fighting. PBF went up to DLH, who was drastically larger than him. You also have to make room for the fact that PBF may dominate Hatton.

Considering what he's accomplishing after 4 straight losses, I have no problem with that.

 

You mean the Tokarev who already beat Ding 100-90? Yeah yeah yeah, I know, sleep problems, but they haven't totally gone away, and I haven't seen enough improvement in Ding's stamina and boxing ability to make up enough ground to go from a shutout loss to a win. In any case, I doubt it would be an "easy" fight either way.

I like Ding, I like to watch him, I like the fact that he comes here and he can speak his perspective, but this is a bit too much Dinglove for me. He's had a great year, and he's fought and beaten some good fighters who are at the level of fighter who used to beat him, but he hasn't fought a top 10 cruiser this year (not for lack of trying, but just speaking the facts), while there are plenty of guys who will have beaten multiple top 10 in their class, plus a P4P guy. Big jump from beating 5 top 25 types to beating 3 top 10 types.

He's made a good turn a round and has definitely put himself up there as a top opponent. He's a quality opponent for any titlelist and he's been EARNING it, producing a chorus of KO's.

The WBA cracks me up, the latest rankings on their website still list Virgil Hill as Champion even though he lost to Henry Maske early this year. They have an Interim Champ of Firat Arslan???? I can hear an "AND NEW"!

Cunningham and Maccarnelli, and Mormeck (The real Champ)??

I dont care which Champ it is, Ding should get someone, since Mormeck is already fighting in NOV. Whoever wins would be taking another step towards a shot at THE REAL CHAMP:good

Ding deserves a mention if he beats another top guy, but I don't think his name is big enough to win.

Comeback Fighter of the Year hands down though. Pavlik right now holds the spot, as it's doubtful he fights again this year, but he's ripe for the picking by other fighters, but he has a solid argument.

I think depending on the outcomes of coming fights we will know the answer better.

If Cotto beats Mosley.. he probably get's the nod, but he'd be up against whoever wins the PBF v Hatton fight, who either one who wins would have a solid shot at that title.

Also, Kessler if he beats Calzaghe would be in the running, but I don't think Cal beating Kessler holds the same weight with his other wins.

Also, Mormeck v Haye will give Mormeck a shot as well if he wins that fight.

The winner of Diaz v Diaz also has a shot.

It will come down to who wins their upcoming fight with the most dominating fashion.

Right now, Pav is the solid favorite, as he beat his two guys in a very very exciting fashion, and one being a FOTY canididate.
