If Dirrell performs as well as he did against Abraham, he's beating Ward...

Hard to perform that well against a spoiler like Ward. I think Dirrell has the chance for an upset. He has the speed, combinations, and lateral movement to give Ward some fits. I actually think that if he can stay sharp, keep his balance in check, and press the fight he can win it in stellar fashion.

If he shows up without having sparred enough, or slips mentally he will get smothered and neutralized.

 

I rate Andre Dirrell as the biggest phoney in world boxing , right there shoulder to shoulder with Cintron !!!!

What Dirrell did in the Abraham fight was nothing short of disgusting , i hope Ward beats the **** out of him :deal

 

No. I still think his 'win' over Abraham is amazingly overhyped.

 

With a massive delay from punch connecting to going down acting like he was actually as hurt as he could've possibly been.

 

I nearly agree, i think he may have to be even better than he was against Abraham cuz Ward is better and much more mobile than Froch or AA but then i think Dirrell has got it in him to improve once again and hes guna win this but not by much.

I dont think hes ever guna go down as a great, but i think hes lookin very good so far and i think hes a quick learner too, im sure hes guna be the big name in this division and maybe the one above for a good few years.

 

It has nothing to do with physical preparation. Dirrell is fine physically. His issues are mental. concentration. slipping. giving rounds away without thinking about it. making small yet significant mistakes.

Ward on the other hand is less physically talented but he has a much wider knowledge of boxing skill at every range, he fights an educated fight and is an airtight fighter as far as ring iq and staying focused goes.

This is the difference between a good fighter and a great one. Dirrell is improving with every bout-in fact you can see that happening in this tournament. Like I said, we'll see. FotY contender from where i'm sitting.

That's just obtuse. He was hit and then went cold. His legs were trembling. He was incoherent after the fight. If you think he was acting, then he deserves an oscar. Abraham caught him cold on the temple with a big hook while he was wide open... Do you really think he was thinking about exploiting a DQ from something like that in the middle of a fight?
