If Don King/Stiverene win, we'll never see WBC title again

If I am Stiverne I try to force the fight immediately it is by far his biggest payday. If I am Vlad despite my advanced age I wait till spring summer 2015 to unify. By waiting he can defend against Pulev in Germany and make a good chunk of change, in doing so he will have taken care of all his mandatories in three successive fights Povetkin, Leapai, Pulev, this will give him the opportunity to make two non mandatory fights before he must face his next mandatory ( the July Chisora/Fury winner) as the other belts have not even sanctioned fights with top contenders yet. In the meantime Stiverne faces Wilder. Stiverne just won an impressive fight tonight on a major American network if he then defeats Wilder he will be red hot and his fight with Wlad will be huge. If he loses Wilder with his gaudy record will be huge. It's win win. And if Wlad wins by waiting he won't be immediately stripped of one of his belts. If he decides to face Stiverne now and wins the IBF will strip him immediately if he faces Wilder and the WBC will strip him immediately if he fights Pulev. Wlad by fighting Pulev could also squeeze in another fight after as a tune up to the unification in December if he chose too against a Briggs as that has gotten attention or another easy mark.

The stripping of belts from the various boxing bodies usaully doesn't apply to a unified heavyweight... Oh and money MAYWEATHER

$2m is what mandatory challengers get. In previous title unifications Wlad paid 50% (Ibragimov, Haye). I think Stiverne could get upwards of $3m for fighting Wlad.

The problem is Don King -- and the WBC. The WBC rarely allows unification fights, and Don King usually insists on options for both fighters in the unification. K2 won't sign options to King that's why I doubt Wlad - Stiverne will ever happen.

wilder fight will be next. Showtime will make sure of that, ESPN put up $400 000 of last nights fight. Showtime will put up 4 times that amount for the Wilder fight with Stiverne. that is Kings only option. There is no other big fight out there.

That is fair point I went low ball with the two million.
As for Don King being the problem, if this was the 70s, 80s, or 90s I would feel more a threat when he had a monopoly on the division. Wlad doesn't need him and Stiverne knows that is where the money is at, he should demand that fight. I doubt Wilder will give him options either. We'll see, I wonder how much fight the old Don has left at his age.

King will most likely keep Stiverne away for a year or so before Wladimir becomes his mandatory and forces the fight. Eventually this will happen, but not soon enough.

I'm surprised the WBC didn't just hand Arreola the title, we all know how they favor Mexicans. like they did Figueroa's sorry a*. They might strip Stiverne or try to give the other fat Mexican Andy Ruiz a title shot.
