He wasn't even hurt by the punch, and Cordova couldn't touch him, I didn't liked but it works for him, it is always next time, how many of your heroes had fight for a belt against an opponent like Cordova on his 8th fight? Move out the way the Cubans are back, just enjoy the show, we will have failures and a lot more success.

This is what I have said. He adjusted and won the fight. I think the knock down is a new experience for him in professional ranks, and he will do better in his next fight. Either way, I was still impressed by the victory and he will be hard to beat. His style is very difficult.

Gamboa doesn't stand a chance and Rigondeux will get knocked out.

Lol . Cordoba made Rigondeaux run all night after he stunned him with a ****ing jab. Donaire would put him to sleep , no doubt .. Donaire is a great boxer , with insane power. Gamboa is a hype job, he has been dropped by feather fisted guys, and is always open to counters. Donaire would only have to land 1 left hook to put gamboa away.

    Are you that thick?

Donaire is no Pacquiao. He would have to move up in three more weight divisions just to be able to polish Pac's effing SHOES. :patsch

Donaire-Rigondeaux in 12-15 months would be perfect. Both need time and three fights to be ready. Donaire need it to be a genuin 122, Rigo need it to get used to pro-boxing at titlefight level. He must make some small changes in his offensiv.

Good post, Rigondeaux was in panic mode and full retreat the entire last half of the fight.

Rigondeux is 30. It's now or never for him. He either makes the big fights now or he will retire never having had any big fights. His only chance of beating a great fighter like Donaire is to fight him in 2011 or 2012. Rigondeux should be pushing for the fight later this year.

If Donaire fights 2 more times this year, Rigondeux should be toward the end of the year. I think Donaire should fight win another title and then fight Rigondeux ASAP.

The fight would make a lot of money because despite the fact that Rigondeux can be a boring fighter, he also can be an exciting fighter when he's challenged. The problem with Rigondeux is he hasn't been challenged so we will never get to see what he has. IMO it could be big like Mayweather Pacquiao was big, and good for boxing.

I'd be interested in seeing it.

he can easily beat rigondeaux. gamboa will be more of a test and to me that is an extremely close gfight. but rigondeaux is way more highly touted that he should be(mostly based on his amatuer backround).

When he was with Roach his offense was fight. He was knocking out guys with liver shots. He has the capability to be as offensively gifted as Donaire or Pacquiao. The problem is he's just scared to get hit for some reason.

Donaire knocked out Montiel because he accepted getting hit to do it.

It depends on if he can bring his power up. If Donaire can bring up his power than Gamboa will be an easier fight. Gamboa has no defense at all and is a Hatton brawler type fighter with very fast hands. He keeps his chin up and open, and his footwork isn't great, which means Donaire will knock him out with ease.

Rigondeux is the only real challenge to Donaire as a boxer and technician. In my opinion Rigondeux is the best possible fighter Donaire can face. I hope to see it later this year or early 2012.

Couple of issues here... Yes he was knocked down. His body language and Boxing adjustments showed it. Cordova couldn't touch him. OK. He also didn't touch or discourage Cordova. In some areas, that will get you lost rounds.

I resent that BS "your heroes" as I have said REPEATEDLY I am a fan of Rigo's and of Pure Boxing. Also 7th fight my ass as Rigo is a REALLY old pro and has an insane amount of Boxing experience. Same rules don't apply to him.

Who cares that he is Cuban? Has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

I'm not sure Gambao is faster or more powerful. He looks faster and more powerful because hes bigger but I think Donaire has some of the fastest hands and footwork in boxing. I think he's on par with anybody. He was so fast I couldn't even see his punches, he's Bruce Lee fast. The punch he knocked out Montiel with I couldn't even see it, it was a blur.

Donaire's defense and chin are highly underrated. He has some moves I haven't seen since Roy Jones Jr. The way he could throw a hook and roll and turn his entire body into it like that was just a beautiful punch. Something out of a movie.
