If Eastern euros could've turned pro before the communist collapse.

That argument is ridiculous because the level of amateur competition (in terms of sheer numbers) was much greater in the US than in the USSR. In the US, large numbers of poor people turned to boxing as a way out of the "ghetto" and many middle class people were drawn to boxing as well. The amateurs were a stepping stone to the pros. In the USSR, there was nothing even remotely comparable, so the level of amateur boxing remained relatively undeveloped.

didnt read TS long ass opener. I do not think the introduction of Eastern Europeans would have made that much of an impact until this current era where the American boxing scene is at an all time low. IF he included the great Cuban boxers then he might have an argument. IMO Cuba always created elite boxers that currently has been ravished by the top boxers defecting to the west.

PEDS use would have been more rampant in the 70's if there were E. Europeans. Most specially East Germans who have invented roiding.

Your post shows your blind hate for non white people. The only reason Euro fighters are doing ok right now because no one here in the USA cares about boxing anymore. Outside of the Klitschko's there are no good Euro heavys out there. Pulev is one of your hopes but he is trash and will be exposed very soon. The UK and USA will take over heavyweight boxing in the next few years.

the whole would have dominated thing is a stretch

but you would have a whole heck of a lot more guys floating around in the ranks with very disciplined coaching methods which would probably be super controlled by the Soviet government

so an influx of a bunch of in shape well trained and motivated guys entering the pro ranks

now maybe they dont beat the Alis Fraziers Foremans Holmes Leonards Haglers and Hearns but there would be plenty of them in the top 20 at several weight classes and it would make boxing interesting

I've already pointed out this is BS. ALL divisions are in a terrible state right now. The HW division is no exception. There's just more nuthuggers in the lower divisions who think anyone who can throw a punch and get a KO is instant ATG.

Absolute nonsense. Why do you people project your own bull**** and insecurities on other people that you know nothing about? All you have to do is look at the composition of the Soviet Olympic teams to see plenty of non-Russians.

It's a matter of promotion and opportunity. For the last 20 years, it was practically impossible to make decent money as a boxer in Russia and the rest of the former USSR - you would make better money working at a regular job. That's also why you don't see a deep crop of "Klitschkos" in Ukraine either, just the two brothers.

Also I don't agree with the impression this heavy weight list gives.

    "1952 Ed Sanders(USA)
    1956 Pete Rademacher (USA)
    1964 Joe Frazier (USA)
    1968 George Foreman (USA)
    1984 Tyrell Biggs (USA)"

In 1952 Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland had 1 gold each. USA 5
In 1956 Soviet had 3 olympic gold medallists, romania, east germany (united germany) and hungary 1 each. USA two
In 1964 Soviet had 3 olympic gold medallists and Poland another three. USA the one.
In 1968 Soviet again had 3 gold, Poland 1 and East Germany 1. USA had two.
In 1984 East block and Cuba boycotted.

There were plenty of very good eastern european amateurs.
