If Edwin Valero was alive in 2012, what would he have achieved at this stage?

He had a ton of potential, but unfortunately we never saw the best of him. But if he was still alive in 2012, would he still be achieving?

He'd probably have beaten Top Rank guys like Rios at 135. . Moved up to 140 for 2-3 fights, winning a belt. . .

and honestly, I think he'd be fighting Pacquiao right about now instead of Bradley. . . Catchweight of 144.

Can you imagine how CRUCIAL Pac/Valero would be?! Holy shite. . What a fuqqing fight. . .

Valero wasn't some simple brawler either. . He had a very good jab, and blinding hand speed.

He probably would have fought Miguel Vazquez or Brandon Rios and would probably have moved up, been in a decent but protected 140 fight and would have just been thrown in against Marquez at 140 this past April in hopes of taking him down to set up Pac vs. Valero for Valero's first fight at 147.

Yeah, he would have been a Pacquiao opponent by now. And I bet it would have been a massive event. He would have picked up some decent wins with some decent stoppages on the way, and he'd have been living off some good media attention. His punching power and fighting mentality would have had fans drooling at the prospect of a Pacquiao fight.

If he had gone to rehab in Cuba & sorted all his demons out then who knows how far he could of gone. Outside of the ring he was a violent, dangerous psycho but he was a tremendous fighter.

Other than Pac & Marquez I dont think he'd lose to anyone else around 135/140. His power is overrated, he hit hard but wasnt blessed with Julian Jackson power. He had fast hands & feet, a great engine & a massive heart.

Valero vs Rios would have been a lot of fun.
