Give us some examples of the highlighted, where fighters after getting battered for several fights after retiring, then come back refreshed and are competitive against A level opposition?????

Morales was'nt only getting battered, he was looking slow and sluggish from the Raheem fight to present.

I dont think I've ever seen a fighter in the situation Morales is in come back after a very long layoff and have a sucessful return to the top.

I believe in the Hatton's and Juan Diaz' of today easily brutalize Erik Morales.
I hope I dont have to see that, because Erik Morales certainly does'nt deserve to go out in an embarassing fashion.

it think this would be a stretch. morales would do fine with his usual style moving forward and using his long jab. marquez is accurate with those counters but he would have a hard time against morales in his prime. also i know styles make fights but morales has a win against pac but jmm doesn't. this would be a good if not a great fight.

If morales comesback to challenge JMM I think JMM will win by a UD or SD
but if the fight comes before the EM V PAC 1 morales could won via UD

It would be a very sad sight if Morales came back and as others have said if he was serious about a comeback I seriously doubt he would be able to get down to 135.

Morales isnt 33 until september but he may as well be 53 because barring a miracle he aint beating Marquez at this stage of his career.

It makes me sad :verysad... but the fact is that its been all over since the 1st Pacquiao fight in march 05.

Will I support his comeback ?... yes.
Do I think he can win ?... No.
Will I root for him ?... **** yes.

    Possibly?

A stoppage win for Marquez is inevitable if Morales returns to the ring to fight him at 135lb. Inevitable.

Much like his greatest rival, Marco Antonio Barrera, he should stay retired and await that glorious day when they are inducted into the HOF.

I dont see much improvement in JMM, I think his style & skills are the same as 4 yrs ago TBH, he`s just well preserved because his style isnt very taxing.

I think Morales UDs Marquez in his prime, the styles & attributes of both favour Erik in this fight IMO, look how close a past prime MAB kept it vs Marquez, Id take both Morales & Barrera over Marquez prime for prime (both close fights tho) & I dont even like Barrera.

Bar your last unnecessary comment regarding Barrera, I agree with your post. Marquez always had the tools to be at the very top of the P4P tree, even during his days at 126lb where he was beating the likes of Gainer. Juan has trouble with certain styles, lets say a Chris John or a Freddie Norwood. Cute boxers. Casamayor was arguably a head on points at the time of the stoppage when those two fought not long ago. He had troubles against an old Barrera, also. Who was playing a counter-punching game.

I won't make a prediction on how a prime for prime match-ups go, I always thought rivalry's like this come down to who goes that extra mile. Not who the better fighter is. You couldn't seperate Barrera and Morales after a three fights, and I think the same would happen with Marquez.

Marquez has not exceeded prime Barrera or Morales though, not in my view.
