Did Jones or Hopkins fight anybody in the UK?? A pair of stay at home charlies with no confidence to travel. Mclellan had the bottle to come.

Exactly.... Roy dumbfounded good fighters, I remember a time in the Jones Toney fight when Toney had his hands up defending punches and when he brought them down he literally did not know exactly where Roy even was in the ring.

But those stay at home charlies will go down as the greater fighters than anyone you mentioned. Like I said, Roy and Hopkins have the better legacies by far.

Actually, I think Roy scared the **** out of all of them when he walloped Toney the way he did. If I remember correctly Eubank and Benn were hesitant to fight Toney when he was calling them out.

The problem would be, for Eubank, landing. His defense was excellent enough, he very rarely got caught with two shots on the spin, and if he missed a shot he never got caught back. Though Jones Jr was abit different, ofcourse ;) But that sneaky right, I can see catching Jones Jr when Jones Jr looks to leap in, I really can.

If American writers are wiriting the history books don`t think there`s any surprise there. Then again you guys defeated the Red Indians,Japanese,Germans and Italians single handed and saved the world,i`ve seen in it all in the the Hollywood movies. :hi:

Eubank doesn't land anything on Jones. It would be more like Jones landing EVERYTHING on Eubank.

Eubank would be getting hit all night by Jones everywhere.

Eubank isn't even a knockout artist anyways, so this thread is ****.

Damn, those are two really honest quotes by two men, I would have expected to be obstinate to the fullest and in love with themselves.
    Didn“t know that tbh!

Eubank told Steve Bunce last year that Jones didn't want to fight him.

I know Eubank stated that he wanted Jones when he came out of retirement in '96.

To be honest Eubank's reflexes slowed a lot by the time of the Benn II through to the end of his career, so when a fight with Jones would've been more likely, Jones probably would've been simply too quick for him.

A cat-like '90-'92 Eubank though against the later Jones would be tight, in fantasy.

    I don't buy this.

Comparing Eubank and Jones's mid-90's records, neither mans record is greatly superior.

Why do you think Eubank should have "manned up" and gone to the states? Why not Jones "manning up" and coming to the UK?? Eubank was the longer-reigning champion at SM. Why would either fighter want to concede home advantage??

And imo Jones' legacy has suffered from it big time. Had he travelled to the UK and beat Eubank i'm pretty sure there'd be no questions about his legacy.

See the only difference is, to you, Jones was the BIG marquee name. To us in the UK, Eubank was the star. Who's to say either of us is right??

Jones wanted to come to London and fight Eubank.
