We all know that Sergio is not that young anymore, I believe that Martinez would agree to any of Floyd's demands just to make their fight happen.. Although I know Floyd won't fight such a high risk opponent even with high rewards.. But "if" ever they will fight maybe @154, I still believe Martinez would KO Floyd.. :bbb Let's say the fight happened and Martinez won the fight with Floyd, convincingly (because it may go the distance).. Would Martinez be the next Cash cow? :welcome
Two not so slick white fighters exposed Martinez defensive flaws. The hell you think a slick black G like Floyd would do, or a slick white irish G like Andre Ward? Sergio would get his arse tapped.
Martinez beats him, possibly by T/KO. I've always said that and still believe it now. If Floyd takes this fight next and beats him clearly I'll officially become a *****.
:rofl Martinez would be too occupied with the glaring stare of Ellerbe at ringside, and get knocked out ala Ortiz. Then Ellerbe will have that "soon, son.. sooon!" look on his face as Sergio is on ***** street.
There better be an Ellerbe restraining order included in their contract, I don't want that freak anywhere near Sexy Serg
Floyd ducked Pacquioa which has been exposed by Mosley and JMM due to some health reasons.. To put it simply, Floyd is not confident that he would finish a 12 rounds fight with Pacquioa without getting hurt.. :deal Martinez is not a one dimensional fighter just like what your trying to point out.. :nono He defeated Williams, and Pavlik using two different styles.. I can't see him losing to Floyd.. :bart
Alot of posters don't seem to be answering your question OP. If Sergio went the distance and won, he still wouldn't be the cash cow. Maybe if it was by brutal K.O then maybe he could become a star! More people would want to fight him yes but he is in a strange place weight wise where there isn't that much good competition that could sell. To be a cash cow you have to have the support of the fans who will actually go out and spend their money to watch you fight. Sergio doesn't have that and he isn't controversial enough ala Mayweather to move people to watch him and he doesn't have the support of his country to idolise him ala Manny.
Isn't beating Mayweather a big accomplishment for him? With that, his name would be remembered as the only fighter who beats Floyd.. Fight fans would want to see him again.. I mean if someone I don't know would beat Floyd I would follow that guys boxing career.. I bet Salido have more fans now after beating Lopez twice than before.. :hey
