If every fighter fought like Rigo or Lara, would anyone watch boxing?

I exaggerate my dislike of defensive fighters somewhat, I don't love watching them but it doesn't bother me as much as I try to pretend it does, I don't mind watching Ward, Lara, Mayweather, but goddamn Rigondeaux is like Chinese water torture.

The people who say guys like Rigo and Lara are the "sweet science" don't watch fights.
They're too busy smelling their own farts

I don't mind watching defensive fighters either, but I'm just making a point that it takes two people to make a fight. The one that makes the fight should be awarded additional points by bringing the entertainment value.

If someone doesn't make the fight, there is no fight. Many fights would end in tough to call decisions if guys just stared at one another.

Is it lost on some fans and boxers; that the only reason we have boxing is because it's entertainment value. Without excitement we have nothing.

Defensive fighters in a way are leaches. They are parasites who latch onto another to survive. They only prosper financially because other men have toiled in sweat and blood to give the fans a violent fight. And defensive fighters are simply taking advantage of the great reputation the warriors have given boxing.
