Still 1 to 3, depending on how you rank GSP and BJ. I don't rate Silva like others do so I'd rank Fedor 1 to 3.
Size, decent take down defence. Smarts to not just run in there and try and kill people. If Dim decides to just grind on Fedor, it'll be tough for Fedor to do anything. I think he'll overcome it, but it's not an easy match up for him because Sylvia has advantages. Think Sylvia is a tougher match up for Fedor than Couture is, personally.
Doesn't Fedor do some combat Sambo tournaments in Russia? How do we know that he hasn't fought anyone. there may be guys over there that are better then anyone here . He may not even be the best fighter over there.
Sambo isn't MMA, and he won the world champs (or might just have been Russian champs, but he won, anyway).
No he beats the **** out of anyone in SAMBO. Most people don't even want to fight him in SAMBO. Take it as you will.
Fedor won the World Sambo Championship last year, because his QF opponent failed to show and his opponent in the finals defaulted rather than face him.
Behind Silva, GSP, and Penn based on recent activity. Though you could argue him above Penn I guess, considering Penn had a rough streak a while back. Though this is the current rankings, not all time. If(and when) Fedor beats Sylvia he'll rank above Penn for now likely, but I still like the other two over him.
So Penn, being the naturally smaller man loses to Hughes (whom he formerly beat) and loses a razor thin decision to GSP (who's bigger remember) due to the exact factor that "P4P" is meant to neutralize, being size and strength. GSP gets KTFO by a smaller man, Serra. They both string together 3 fight win streaks after and look amazing doing so. Why isn't Penn above GSP again???? This is P4P remember :good
Even if you say BJ and GSP are equal H2H, or GSP edges him a bit....GSP is the bigger man so BJ can or should still be higher then him P4P. Its like if GSP moves up and loses to Franklin, it doesn't necessarily mean Franklin is better P4P.
Penn had been inconsistent aside from his recent string. GSP had been dominant ever since his loss to Hughes all those years ago. Even in BJ's recent years, he hasn't strung together wins like GSP has done even till now. GSP has always taken on the better competition, which is what has given him the edge. Now that GSP had a single loss and showed back up dominating his return competition, as well as in a rematch, he overtakes BJ again, on the grounds of beating better return competition. I rate beating Koscheck, Hughes, and his rematch higher than beating Stevenson and Sherk. P4P is weight class by weight class, nothing else. No division gets an advantage.
So wins over Koscheck, Hughes, and a dominating win over his previous loss don't register as good competition after that lone loss?
