I can honestly say I'm pretty much done with mma. I will tell you why. 1.He is the last of the golden era of mma, the last of the dominant PRIDE guys. Crocop is pretty much on his way out so all the fighters I have enjoyed over the years are pretty much done. Crocop, Wand, Dan Henderson, Frye, Fugita, and the list goes on. Mma is now covered up with tattooed dipshits with more attitude than ability. 2. UFC just does'nt do it for me. It is such a big commercial deal with a total ******* as it's frontman. They are not fair to the fighters, or the fans. The cards they put together are laughable and they get $59.95 per event:rofl I won't buy but more power to em. Long story short, I'm losing interest in mma aside from Fedor. There just isn't anyone who has dominated like he has.
Your choice.. personally...i wouldn't be done with mma.. As a matter of fact , if someone has to beat him...werdum would be the perfect guy. He's a nice guy..respectable , the total opposite of the arrogant , **** talkers we usually see in the sport. But i would be very pissed because Dana and company would have a field day..especially the tuf & ex-wwe fans...who know nothing about this sport. Who are just a bunch of arrogant pricks who religiously listen to every bull**** dana has to say.
Maybe not...But GSP is getting close...You should also give a chance to Shogun. (even if he's been a bit inconsistant)
GSP is badass, so is shogun. But I guess it is that whole invincibility thing that nobody else has. Anderson is badass, but he has been beat 4 times already.
i don't think fedor is in his prime anymore..i've been following his career since 2002...he's a bit different today...(which is normal..) , i think his ultimate peak was in 2004/2005...But he's so good that he still manages to win anyway. How long will that last ? maybe tomorrow will be his first loss..maybe not. we'll see..it should be a very interesting fight though...Considering that Werdum is the most dangerous bjj artist in any hw division. If fedor plans to fight on the ground , he'll give werdum an advantage.
I'm kinda with the thread starter, Fedor loses I will probably at the very least not visit an online websites for months due to the ******ed haters that seem to be everywhere. Plus I'm not a real fan of how the UFC presents MMA, deathmetal, fake blood splatter, tribal tatoos scream beer swilling fans. Just real annoying to watch. I'd rather watch the fights in an empty room with NO fans or special effects then what the UFC shoves at us.
i have the feeling that he won't lose, even that he will completly **** werdum in the first round. there is only one fighter who can take fedor right now, and that is oveerem and even there fedor is the favorite
I don't understand how any true fan of combat sports could ever be done over any one thing. Fedor was part of a special era but check out 205, heavyweight now and there new golden eras. The UFC put on quality cards. No card is worth $60 but in comparison to boxing their cards are unbelievable.
"Golden Age"? What? There hasn't been a "Golden Age". You do know this sport has only been around, as we know it now, for not even a decade, right? (November of 1993 was UFC 1, but I'm talking more about unified rules and more mainstream acceptance of the sport) This isn't a golden era, it's just an era...the beginning era. Or maybe the beginning step 2. And if Fedor loses it just means he lost. Why is it that every Fedor nut out there thinks that if he loses people will immediately think that people will think that he's awful! Or the idiots who will actually think that... It doesn't take away anything he's done in the past. Not one thing. It's beyond amazing! Just means he's getting older and maybe the new breed of HWs who are getting more technical and more intelligent might be too much for him provided he doesn't also evolve what he's doing. It's really that simple...
If you are watching for one guy and then stop when he loses maybe you shouldnt watch at all because your not a real fan.
Everyone loses. It's a fact of life. To say that you're giving up the sport if Fedor loses is silly. I was depressed after watching Roy Jones and Randy Couture get KO'd for the first time a few years back - but it never made me want to stop watching the sports that I love. Great fighters come and go. For everyone great one that retires - a new future great comes along.
