I have two questions up for discussion. 1) If Fitch beats GSP, how do you see him winning? and 2) If Fitch beats GSP, how does that affect GSP's future. The last time he was champion he lost on his first defense and this would make that twice in a row. Sure, he is probably the most dangerous Welterweight win or lose, but what does he do next if he does lose?
If Fitch beats him i see it happening by Fitch getting top position and either grinding out a decision or a late TKO. I can't see him winning on the feet or pulling out a submission. As for GSP if Fitch wins i think he should sart to seriously consider his mental state. Is he getting over-confident? Or is it lack of confidence? That is his one weakness I feel. It's hard to pick holes in his game. He is very good at everything really. The only aspect which he usually concedes to some of his opponents is striking, but his striking is above average as it is.
No, his mental, now is perfect, he has no excuse vs Fitch. Everything is great in his life, his training is great.. Fitch need to fight the fight of his life! It's MMA, you never know!
The only way I can see Fitch winning (and this is even a stretch) is by UD or a late GnP TKO. He isn't going to outstrike GSP or pull off a submission. His only chance is if he can use his strength and outwrestle GSP. Considering Koscheck couldn't outwrestle him though, I don't think Fitch can pull it off. This is going to be a tough, tough fight for him. I don't think his style offers anything that's remotely threatening to GSP. IF Fitch won though, it would certainly set GSP back. He would start to be looked at as a guy with all the talent and tools in the world who just can't get his head straight.
No one can really know how he is doing mentally. Just because he says that everything is now sorted out doesn't mean ****. Until it's proven that he is absolutely 100% mentally and he wins this title defense, we can't tell.
If he lose, the only excuse, for me, will be that Fitch was the better man that fight. But you'r right
I cant see him doing anything but maybe landing a lucky strike. Everything Fitch does GSP can do that much better.
no GSP dont like excuses, its just that he was kept asking the same question over and over..And the fact that he dont speak english very well, make him not the most confortable person. That's the way I view, but now I do think he wont say any more excuse for the next losses(if they happens:hey) 'cause he really have no excuse,or I'll lose respect for him a little.
he would be the Wlad of 2005. but GSP has seen a shrink after his Serra loss just to get things in order. I think it was a simple matter of beating Matt Hughes very brutally who was the most dominant WW in history, he is still young and everyone around him was telling him he was unbeatable etc. the you fight Matt Serra who barely won to even get a shot a you.....I think it was a combination of things why he lost. Serra came in that fight loose with nothing to lose and caught him with a grazing punch to the head and then it snowballed from there. It will help GSP in the long run anyhow, i guarantee he will never take anyone lightly again.
I hope we get a good close fight but no sure what Fitch will have to do to win except to leave it all in the Octagon. Fitch is pretty decent and probably best to hope for a SD after keeping the ground game tight for awhile.
I really like both these guys so I don't really care who wins, but common sense says GSP wins. I also think that it'll be by G'n'P probably in the 3rd, much like the Koscheck fight but I think GSP becomes more agressive and pounds him out instead of being content with being held onto.
With that said I wouldn't be suprised to see Fitch win by G'n'P either, he is very strong and I think people overrate Koscheck in MMA, so to compare Fitch and Kos I think is unfair to Fitch way better in my opinion.
Did you know people that GSP turned down a black belt in BJJ? He said that he feel that he need to learn more before becoming a black belt. nice ****
