The man at the top always has to be put down. It's the way of the world. Look at when Roy was on top. Same deal...

So my answer is no, even though most will say yes.

After Hatton its Cotto or Mosely. And after Cotto and Mosely, it's the one he didn't choose. And then after he chooses the one he didn't choose the first time, it's another name....

    Yes, very confusing.

A win over Hatton will do little for Mayweather's career. A win over Mosely would project him to star level.

I do have respect for PBF in terms of his boxing skill and think he is the best technician in the sport and has been for a few years.

It's his arrogance, and defence orientated style that I do not like, and whether he beats Hatton, Cotto, SSM, it will not change either view of him.

i never wanted to see hatton fight mayweather, this is going to be as one sided as lacy vs calzaghe, after floyd beats him he needs to fight mosley, cotto, margarito, williams and maybe even beat the clown berto and cintron.

If Floyd wins this fight, the only logical fights for him to take would be the winner of Cotto/Mosely or a rematch with DLH.

You know, bringing up Baldomir/Forrest might have actually made some sense as a slight against Mayweather if Floyd had actually struggled with either of them instead of dominating both. The notion that they were "handpicked" opponents also ignores the fact that Gatti was the best available option for Mayweather at 140 (as Hatton wasn't interested, Tszyu was lingering in the same state of semi-retirement as he is now and Cotto was green) and he received received a TON of publicity from that fight because Gatti is one of the few fighters who are well known to the casual fan. Also, it's pretty tough to describe Baldomir as "handpicked" considering the fact that he was the legit WW champ at the time, and that he was actually Floyd's third choice behind Mosely and DLH last year. And I won't even get into the fact that you're clearly one of idiots who's still implying that Mayweathe was afraid of Margo by attacking his decision to fight the Argentinean.

Somehow I doubt that. I imagine that we'll still be subjected to you're illogical attempts to slander Mayweather.

He has to fight the Cotto/Mosely winner if he beats Hatton. That's his legacy fight.

Why? Why is Margo (or Berto ot Cintron for that matter) a legit option. Mayweather would probably take **** for in the end for fighting him from the same people who are STILL clamoring for the fight. Cintron looks solid, but he's only got one somewhat decent win. IMO he's needs to atone for his humiliation at the hands of Margo. Berto, gimme a break. The guys a prospect who's probably going to get starched when he finally steps up.

Cotto, Mosely, Williams are Mayweather valid options at 147 right now.

The top guys for the last 3 years have been Cotto,Mayweather Hatton and Tszyu before he was 'retired'.The Williams and Marg are good but probably to big for them.If Hatton is beat that makes him 1-1 against the top guys while Mayweather will still have to beat Cotto to be regarded as the best guy in the era for me around that weight.Mayweather although wants to fight Hatton at WW because he thinks he has an advantage is NOT a WW fighter.
