If Floyd beats Canelo is it time to start ranking him with RJJ and Sweat Pea?

Pretty much. For all of Hopkins longevity his best wins are still 2 welterweights. Couldnt beat Roy. Couldnt beat Joe. Never fought Toney. Wont fight Ward.

Hopkins looked old and tired as hell in the Calzaghe bout. The fact that he was able to put on that type of performance speaks volumes of how good a young Hopkins was...even a 36 yr old Hopkins.

Trinidad was the #2 Middleweight. I hope you apply this logic to all of the guys Mayweather hasn't fought at their starting weights.

No...but it´s a win tha could increase over time.....I mean, he beats Canelo now and Canelo turns out to be a top p4p for years and years... then yes it would be a great win.

Floyd has already passed Jones. Jones would never make any of the fights that Floyd has. He wasn't called 'Reluctant Roy' for nothing.

A 36 year old Hopkins was considered past it going into the Tito fight, which is why he was like a 3/1 underdog. And remember, Tito was fighting for only the second time at MW. Mayweather is 36 and would have to go to 160 or perhaps even 168 to be a 3/1 underdog.

I like Hopkins, he's one of my favorite fighters. However, he's not as good as Mayweather. Hopkins is very smart and crafty, but he lacks natural talent. That's why he's struggled with athletic fighters(lost to Jones, Taylor twice, Calzaghe, and Dawson). Mayweather is very smart and crafty himself, but also is blessed with a lot of natural talent.

Mayweather would be creamed by a fighter like Jones. Pacquiao had him cautious imagine what Floyd would think with a fighter like Jones Jr in his weight class.

You're bringing up fights with guys where Hopkins was 41+ years old. Let's see Floyd at 42 and him dealing with athletic guys.

Hopkins wasn't 42 when he fought Taylor or Jones. And no, a fighter like Jones would never cream Mayweather. He couldn't even cream Hopkins. The Pacquiao was all but done. All Pacquiao had to do was agree to the drug testing. He made a million excuses as to why he wouldn't. Now we know he was full of it. Mayweather even personally called the man up to try to make the fight. It takes two to tango.

While I agree, Jones had everything needed to defeat Mayweather. Jab, Amazing defense, one punch knock out power in either hand, blazing foot and hand speed, ability to throw multiple combos.

Jones would be able to ruffle Mayweather's offense with sound defense and force Mayweather on the defensive taking over the rds with his own offense. Not to mention would have Mayweather very weary about getting knocked out or severely hurt with one punch.

But if Jones was a natural WW or naturally in Mayweather's weigh class then Mayweather wouldn't have any issues fighting him. Pac only had him weary because he was questioning him moving up in weight and accomplishing that not because of his skill level. Mayweather challenged Mosley when he was a monster and fought Judah. He has no problem fighting elite athletes with athleticism, speed, and power.

He beat him with one hand as he broke it during the fight.

That's what he claims. He also claims he tested positive for roids due to taking Ripped Fuel.
