If Floyd beats Canelo is it time to start ranking him with RJJ and Sweat Pea?

Dont think so. In order to male leaps like this, he needs to beat GREAT boxers. Unless you guys think Canelo is already great haha.

It's more to do than just Canelo, who is now recognized as the man at 154.

Canelo is a young, 22 year old Champion, Floyd is 36, past prime and 14 years his senior. Canelo is fighting in his optimum weight division, Floyd is on his fifth and worst. Canelo will weigh around 172 on fight night, Floyd will be 150ish.

It's a VERY GOOD win, at the least.

Floyd is too good for his own good. He can't get enough credit for his wins because he'd favored them all despite any disadvantages he gives up

    I agree with...

    Young Champ
    Optimum weight
    FLoyd not 154
    Canelo clearly bigger

    I disagree with...

Is Canelo really the man at 154 after beating ONE legit Jr Middleweight? I think Canelo still needs to prove this. There's good competition left.

Canelo is a young champ but how much experience does he really have at the highest level? Mayweather is a 36 year old past prime? He doesn't look 36 to me lol.

I don't think boxers should to be judged strictly on age but by performances. When I say that Canelo is GREEN, I just don't say it because of his obvious age, I say it mostly from what I see in the ring. He's good FOR A 22 YR OLD. There's a difference. That doesn't mean that he is one of the best P4P fighters in the world or that he's in his prime. In Mexico, many still consider him a prospect (Nacho Beristain). I understand that Mayweather's age can easily reflect that a boxer is past his prime (I agree to an extent) but the reality is that he is definitely not fighting like if he's 36. Cotto for example is 4 years younger but he looks like the 36 yr old in the ring. So, even though I agree that May is past his "prime" I don't think he's far from it. Until he proves it in the ring, I can't say that he's past it. IMO Mayweather is in better form at his age than Canelo at 22. I don't know many 22 year old in ANY sport who are in their prime. Prime is also MENTAL. How can you be in your prime when you haven't experienced? How can your boxing IQ be at the pinaccle, when you haven't had the challenges to learn from? Mayweather is probably the best 36 yr old I've seen, due to his fighting style and dedication to stay in great shape. His IQ is at the top. He blows Canelo away in that aspect. Canelo has the advantage in the physical but what else? At this stage in his career, I can't say much else. If he beats Canelo, It would be a Good win but not enough to bump him to another level of greatness.

And that stupid thought some have of, "If Canelo turns out to be GREAT, It will boost May even higher" LOL. So you beat a Green fighter and 15 years later, he might boost your legacy? If that's the case then Mosley will boost Canelo's resume also because Mosley form, during that time is irrelevant as well.
