If Floyd beats Mosley, would it be better than any win on Pacquiao's resume?

Yeah, before the Mosley fight was on the table, all Floyd's fans were quick to point out how underwhelming he was before Margarito, and a proven drugs cheat. Now? He's the second coming of Christ in boxing trunks.

People are voting that beating Mosley at this point in his career better than Barrera?

    For real?

    Nah, wind up merchants.

Barrera 'in his prime' was a fantastic fighter, but thats not the guy who fought Pacquiao. A victory over Barrera at that stage of his career does not in any way surpass a victory over Mosley, who is still at this point top 5 p4p on just about anyone's list. Whether or not he so called has difficulties with 'slick boxers' is completely irrelevant to the level of fighter he is, and what a victory over him would mean. Moreover, I don't know that Mosley has ever faced a 'slick boxer'. Forrest and Winky Wright were both bigger guys with stiff jabs and solid defense; neither one of them can be described as 'slick'. One can easily argue that Pacquiao has never fought a slick boxer himself, instead opting almost exclusively for brawlers which are tailor made for his style, Barrera included.

Additionally, Mosley would pound Pacman to the ground and Roach knows it which is why he refused to have Pac fight him.

Well here's the thing, it wasn't just me was it? It was the whole world! Noone envisaged him conquering the higher weights in the manner that he did....

    Barrera
    Morales
    Marquez
    Oscar
    Hatton
    Cotto
    Clottey (....soon to be)

That's one impressive list of victims, even more impressive when look at the manner in which he took these guys out.

Of course, I'm not discounting Mayweather's early resume (Castillo, Corrales)...but apart from Hatton and Oscar, who lately in his division has he conquered which rivals the accomplishments of Pacquiao?

    Baldomir? Judah? Gatti?

The theory of Pac beating a past prime Barrera, really doesn't hold up any weight.

Prior to stepping in the ring with Manny, Barrera was on a hot 8 fight win streak, including the likes of Hamed, Morales, Tapia, and Kelly. He looked as amazing as ever in all of those bouts, and there were no signs of deteriation in any of them. Against Manny, Barrera was a firm favourite.

But when Pac annihilates him, he's all of a sudden past his best?

He then goes on to take part in another war and beats Morales, and has a close and competitive fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. With this in consideration, it tells us that Pac beat a Barrera who was more or less in his prime. Now that alone, is more impressive than the names (apart from maybe Castillo) on Floyd's resume.

Oh and did I mention, Pac was still green back then?

In my opinion I vote a close no. It will definitely better the Cotto or Hatton fights. Cotto was coming off a knockout loss and so was Hatton. But Pacquiao domination of Barrera in their 1st fight would probably out rank this unless Floyd knocks Mosley out in spectacular fashion.

Right now Mosley is coming off the 1st or 2nd win of his career depending on how you view his destruction of Margarito. And he is a legitimate hall of famer. Mosley would be Floyd's biggest win if he gets it.

Cotto was coming off a win over Clottey, and Hatton was coming off a win over Malignaggi.

ffs you could say that Pac is coming off a knockout loss too going into his fight against Clottey.

Barrera I is far better win. Barerra was in his peak and in the middle of the best winning streak in his life - including 2 over Erik Morales.

I also agree that the Cotto fight is better.

Shane is a great fighter and should be a good fight. I even think he has a great chance to win.

But I also believe the Corrales win would still be PBF's best win. He beat a guy convincingly near his peak.

Shane win by PBF would be equal to Pac's ODLH or EM II wins. I slightly have the Hatton win better than that.

You're missing the point. Whether it was just you or every one in the world, the assumption that Pacquiao would lose to certain guys was due to the way his skill level was perceived. Just because people 'thought' this or that guy was too much for Pacquiao, it made his victories over them 'more impressive'.

Contrarily, Mayweather, no matter who he fights in boxing today(including Pacquiao and Mosley), would be considered the odds on favorite to win(this has generally been the case since his win over Corrales). There really is no one he could have fought from lightweight up who majority of people would not 'think' he would beat and in most cases dominate. Because of this, he seems to get less credit for his victories than he should.

Exactly. if people expected him to 'conquer' the higher weights, his victories would not have been as 'impressive'.

By the way, Morales(he lost to), Marquez(most feel he lost to, perhaps twice), and Oscar(purposely weight drained) can be taken off that list, because Pacquiao certainly did not 'dominate' them, and in the case of Oscar, its pretty clear what happened there.

Morales, was also past his prime since the first time he fought Pac, but I give Pac credit for beating him the in the 2 fights that followed.

beating someone at your weight who's in the twilight of his career is not the same achievement as facing prime fighters well above your natural weight. regardless, this is a pointless argument; fraud will find a way to break this deal.

Cotto barely and i mean barely got the nod for the cotto fight. I had him losing that fight. But what do i know lol.

Hatton had already been destroyed by mayweather. He was laid out on his back. And was no longer underfeated.

This is a better win than any of pacs victories.

Mosley is coming off a great win against margarito.

Pac win against morales was after morales had already lost to Raheem.
